The jealousy track is needed more for Ishwari than Dev. Without the jealousy track, Ishwari will never really realize the depth of Dev-Sona's love. Currently according to Ishwari it was just a passing affair and Dev is not really affected by it. Ishwari does not think there will be much change in Dev due to Sonaskhi's absense.
Even if Dev does a few things Ishwari can ignore them and convince herself that he is fine. But when Dev feels jealous, realizes that he can never touch or feel or see or talk to Sona anymore, i mean if she is single he can do all these maybe at a future time. But once Sona is married, he cannot think of any such thing with her. This fear of loss is going to trigger Dev to react strongly which Ishwari cannot ignore. She will have to acknowledge that Sona played a big role in Dev's happiness. That starts the realization and redemption track.

Just my POV. Your thoughts are welcome...

@ Gemini - Thanks and I am glad that someone else feels disappointed at this too.. And I agree with you, I am going to look forward to this show without any expectations from the plot.. Actually I started the show itself for acting .. of Supriya ji.. Later I fell in love with Shaheer and mostly Erica.. Erica has been the surprise package for me.. šŸ˜› So even though I hate Ishwari, I watch her scenes for her acting.. And I am gonna follow the same approach for the overall love-story now 😃 That'd help me.. Thanks a bunch ! 😊

@ Aliyah - Beautiful post.. šŸ‘ Agree that it comes from security etc.. And yes from parents' pov, it's a natural step which in real life many people follow.. A heartbreak, bam, get her hooked to someone of our choice šŸ˜• But I guess in urban areas things are changing now, girls are given time to cope up !! 😊 Anyways, I agree with whatever you shared.. šŸ‘

So all in all .. I just want them to use this jealousy track to get dev back on track and i dont want cvs yo do this by making ritwich the bakara..
If I understand the segment correctly, ritwich know about sona and dev relationship and he said he wanted to be her friend and help her. I dont for a sec believe that sona has moved on or wanted to move on...

I also see that ritwich knows that dev is watching them in the rain seqence... So i am happy with the way cvs are taking this track...

I get what you are saying.. That Rithvik knows about it and is helping in Dev-Sona.. And if so, I have a BIG BIG concern for Bose Family.. I guess Bose uncle has chosen this guy for Sona to marry, not as a tool to play instrumental in Dev-Sona relationship šŸ˜• More than Rithvik, it's important that Bose family are aware of their kid's intentions..

Don't you think it's a BIG cheating on Bijoy Bose who is acting as a very realistic father - he doesn't want to hear the name of the guy who dumped his daughter.. He doesn't want Sona to be back to Dev.. And now Sona is planning-plotting with Rithvik to teach Dev a lesson ??

Sorry if this is how the story is going, it's a big drawback from me, because from Bose family's perspective, they should not consider Dev as their prospective SIL so easily ..

What is your opinion about that ?

I have full faith that cvs will handle the situation with out compromising any character. Again sona is not playing but ritwich will help volunterely. I am sure bose family would know and understand...
But again ther will be a track where bose dady and mummy wont agree and dev will have to convince them. This time they are not going down easily. It is all about ppl lear ing how to manage and balance relationships. Lets not jump to conclusions and start blaming.. Even though i dont mind as it increases forum activity 😃

Again if sona gets an upgraded dev babu - knowing that she loves him every much, i dont think bose family would mind.. But condition is that dev needs to upgrade (god knows when that will happen)

I partly agree that the jealousy track is very predictable. However, this is one show where a jealousy track is needed. Even after breaking up with Sony, dev still thinks it's ok to call her anytime without reason. He has not yet realized the impact of what he has done.
But when he sees her with another guy, he will realise this instantly. That she is no longer his. the sad part is that Sona was the only thing he ever wanted for himself and when he sees her with someone else, that will trigger a mountain of reactions. Iswari told him that he is a mountain that will never break. This is true. After all the hardships he has suffered, it is difficult for him to show emotions. So he needs to see something where the love of his live has been taken from him.

As much as I would love to see Dev suffer for whatever reason, and would love to see Sona moving on and being happy with someone else (contrary to the popular demand), but I am really confused here.. Confused because, does jealousy REALLY work in real world ?

I personally believe that love is an equation between 2 people, whatever they feel for each other should be equal, mutual and exclusive to each other.. The power to trigger all the emotions related to love should be triggered by each other and ONLY each other.. But I heard there is a hell lot of not-so-positive package which comes with this emotion - insecurity, jealousy, possessiveness - the darker side of emotions.. And all of these are triggered by involvement of at least 1 person outside the 2 people involved in love.. When any third party gets the authority to influence your love-life, or to make changes to your emotions, I really wonder if that's really love .. If we need 3rd party to open our eyes, to make us feel the worth of our partners, then what's the point ? Shouldn't 2 people in love introspect their own actions, understand each other's pov, and then provide a solution to their problem THEMSELVES.. ? Isn't it why marriage is considered to be the greatest bond of all, a bond which is not impacted by external force or factors, that behind the closed doors, lies a whole different world for a couple where no one else gets an entry, that when a relationship(marriage) is in trouble and seek for legal separation, they are advised to spend a significant time alone with each other where no one ELSE comes in between them !

Anyways, my point is, as much as happy I am from Sona's perspective, I can't help but feel disappointed with the third wheel approach the CV has taken here.. I would be so much happier if Dev had understood the importance of Sona without feeling jealous, insecure etc... Shouldn't the unbearable pain of separation be ENOUGH for a person to realize the worth of his partner ? Shouldn't just missing the lover/girlfriend/wife be enough for a person to realize someone's importance in life ? Is it always mandatory to make someone feel jealous to make them realize the worth of their partner ?

From a personal front, my husband and me are living in 2 different countries right now And I can talk from my experience that the pain which I feel at times for staying apart from him, has NOTHING to do with him hanging out with the people who might have a crush on him 🄱 I don't care who he is with, the pain that I am NOT with him is overpowering all my emotions ALL the time šŸ˜• Many many times a day I tend to rethink over my priorities and change my decisions just so that I can be with him.. So honestly I don't get this Jealousy track at all.. I thought it would be a bit more mature and show some emotions never seen in tv before.. But alas! Disappointed..

My 2 cents.. 😊

WORD!!!

Love your post.

The show was supposed to be about matured romance. What with suicide attempts, cheesy lines and contrived complications they are turning things into an Ekta kapoor show.

Consider this:

Had Dev explained it to Sona in a gentle way his own predicament regarding his Mother. Telling her that he may have to at least temporarily separate from Sona even if it's killing him would have made Sona understand him and support him at this hour without compromising the relationship.

Now to correct the mess they created with the break-up scene, they plan to introduce a jealous track. That's just piling even more crap on top of the existing crap.

There shouldn't have been a crappy break-up to begin with. Now this is just anther Ekta Kapoor show with a different premise.

THANK YOU, you honestly read my mind. I am not the type who finds jealousy as something I want to see in a character I love, it only makes them more annoying. Say an example Ross, I loved Ross in season 1&2, but then he started getting jealous because Rachel was friends with the guy who helped her get into Bloomingdales. And after that, there were very rare moments I like Ross, because jealousy is such an ugly color on people.
I don't like the fact that they are saying that Dev's trigger of regret (of breaking up with Sona) is because she's with some other guy now (and Bijoy, W*F are you doing? She just got out a relationship, calm yourself) and it's some type of possessive thing? I will only like Dev less if they do this whole -she's mine, and I can't stand her being with another guy- type attitude, it's not attractive, and it's just plain annoying.
Please CVs, don't ruin this character that I hold so dear to my heart. Don't make him into an Arnav (no offense to IPKKND fans) who gets mad if the girl talks to some other guy of his gender, because obviously that means they're in love right?
I want them to show him being happy for Sona, and proud of her for moving on, but he's hurting inside. It'll be like the situation Sona was in when Dev was with Natasha. That he doesn't miss her because she's with someone else, but because he loves her to the moon and back and he regrets leaving her, and not having her to hug him in his sorrow and laugh with him in times of happiness. Please CVs.

In general jealous is not a trait I want anyone to own just because it's been glorified to be an expression of love and care...

I don't yet know where the jealous angle is being brought into the story now.. will wait till the episodes air.. but whatever seen so far in the show I can say based on that...

Jealous: As a fear that someone else gonna make that person happier than what they do... And is that a good sign when it was the same coming out from Ishwari?🄱

Jealous: As an outcome of lack of self-confidence with a feeling that they can't have it because it's somebody else's. And was that a good sign when it was coming out from Sona on seeing Natasha?🄱

Jealous: And do we want that As a disease or as a cure for Dev?

But if it's in the cards of the makers, then sure it must be a quick trick by the CVs to spice up the drama...šŸ˜†šŸ˜†
