Was Akshay Kumar dating Raveena Tandon while shooting for Mohra? Director Rajiv Rai reveals the truth

Rajiv Rai, the director of iconic Bollywood films such as 'Tridev', 'Mohra', and 'Gupt', has finally spoken about the alleged romance between Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon during the making of 'Mohra'. In the 1990s, Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon were a prominent Bollywood couple, briefly engaged before their split. Their on-screen chemistry was undeniable, and their relationship was widely discussed.

During a recent interview with Vickey Lalwani, Rajiv Rai was asked about the rumored romance between Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon, specifically regarding the filming of the iconic songs Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast and Tip Tip Barsa Paani. In response, the filmmaker quipped, “I wasn’t sitting there with binoculars, was I?"

When questioned further about their body language, Rajiv spoke, “There’s no question about it… There are 100-200 people on set. Every actor has to be well-behaved. A heroine has to maintain her reputation. Don’t you think she knows there are a thousand eyes watching her? So, to be very honest, I never saw anything. Whatever I later heard, I was pleasantly surprised like, is this really true?"

He clarified that during the filming of Mohra, there were no indications of an off-screen romance. He added that the details emerged later and were unrelated to the film's production.

Raveena, in a separate chat with ANI, addressed how her past with Akshay still follows her. “Once I had moved out of his life, I was already dating someone else, and he was already dating someone else, so kahan se jealousy ayegi?"

She added, “Girls have been changing their boyfriends every week in colleges, but one engagement that has broken is still stuck to my head, I don’t know why. Everyone moves on."

Despite the past rumors surrounding their relationship, both Akshay and Raveena are happy personally and professionally. Akshay Kumar is currently married to Twinkle Khanna, and Raveena Tandon wed producer Anil Thadani in 2004.
