Ayushmann Khurrana set to headline romantic chaos in Mudassar Aziz’s next with three leading ladies

Ayushmann Khurrana is returning to comedy with Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, the upcoming film from director Mudassar Aziz. The project brings together a fresh cast with Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and now Rakul Preet Singh on board as the female leads. While the plot remains under wraps, the film is being billed as a situational comedy with a large ensemble.

As per a Pinkvilla report, all three actresses have signed their contracts. A source revealed, “Unlike Pati Patni Aur Woh, which had two female leads, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do will feature three female leads. The film will star Ayushmann in the central role, and it’s being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra.”

The film is scheduled to begin shooting in September 2025, with the team aiming for a release in the latter half of 2026. Currently, the makers are in the process of finalising the rest of the cast. The script is locked, and according to sources, the film is being designed as a typical situational comedy, relying heavily on the chemistry among its leads and the chaos of overlapping relationships.

While this isn’t a direct sequel to the 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh, which featured Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday, it will follow a similar tone. The new film will, however, stand independently in terms of plot and characters, even as it leans into the thematic world of romantic confusion and mistaken identities.

Once this film wraps, Ayushmann is expected to move on to Sooraj Barjatya’s next, beginning December 2025.

With a star-studded lineup and a director known for his comedic sensibilities, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is one to keep an eye on. However, with little revealed about the actual storyline, audiences will have to wait and see how this new version handles the dynamics of multiple relationships in today’s context.
