The industry is very harsh towards outsiders and if actors like Anushka and Illena turn bitter, it is with a good reason. They are beautiful, talented and hardworking, yet get the short end of the stick, only because they don't have an industry godfather to back them up.

But the industry girls have it so much easier. They get time to prove their talent, they always have people to fall back on, they can afford to make innumerable mistakes in their career, they can make as many atrocious statements as they want and still stay afloat.

Established actresses like Priyanka and Deepika are slotted as being 'bitches', because they use manipulation and PR tactics to stay in news and sustain their stardom. But someone like Kareena will always be called straightforward and honest, no matter how many times she insults her colleagues or makes rude statements.

I don't think this is a reflection of their real personalities, it is merely a reflection of their circumstances. For an industry outsider, they have to do whatever it takes to sustain and that obviously takes a toll on their personalities.
