I atcually enjoyed it more than Rustom, whereas I had more high expectations from Rustom but was highly disappointed.

Totally agree with you. Expected much from Rustom as I am a long time admirer of AK but by a critic who had watched it that it was going to sink . Have seen both and I must admit I found Hrithik exceptional in MD. Also the film has a feel good feel ...simple romance set in the good old day's mould ...poor villager, evil ruler ...fights etc and finally good conquers evil . But what made it stand out is the unusual setting in the IVC .No movie has been made of this era.

HR has every right to feel 'pleasantly surprised' about the feedback. Not just his fans but neutrals like me too have liked his performance.

I had no expectations from MD at all especially with all the negative feedback it was getting even before the release. But the simplicity, conviction and sincerity that Hrithik portrayed as Sarman had me totally sold.MD to me was far more entertaining and engaging then the dreary drag fest Rustom.

I think he surprised because he knew lot of bad review about the movie.

But, that really good movie compare other movie like Gunday & BBB which is waste my money because Deepika praised that movie to the sky.🥱
