Except in some South Indian communities allowed to marry maternal cousin.

Gay Marriages

Honestly I am pretty neutral to the topic. Its all based on your religion I am a sikh so in my religion my cousins and childhood guy friends are considered my brothers. But in my muslim friend's religion its alright to marry your first and second cousins. It was hard to wrap my head around at first but thats their belief system and I have learned to respect it. But medically it can sometimes cause issues with the children. It can bring out the regressive bad genes.

It happened in our history and in the history of the world so I don't see why it shouldn't happen. However, of course it will cause inbreeding which will be not good for the future generations. Keeping the breed and lines pure is of course one of the main goals. Like what happened in the European royalties they are all related one way or another. Many even married their cousins. Like Queen Victoria and Prince Consort Albert were first cousin. The present day Queen Elizabeth II and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh are maybe 4th cousins if I am not mistaken or maybe even closer than that. In Japan, there were always inbreeding even as close as half-siblings being married to one another. It happened in ancient Egypt where Pharaos married their half-sisters to become their queens.
