hey guys so I have to wear formal Indian for an event soon and have no idea where to start ~

was hoping we all could share pics of bollywood actresses in famous indian wear <3__<3

Can't post pics from phone but u can try wearing a pre-stitched saree will be easy to handle.. Sonam n deepika have worn it at different events.

Almost all of Anu's and few of Sonam's r easy to carry light weight fabrics..and classy

My most sincere advice is, don't wear a sari if you are not used to it or cannot wear it comfortably. You can wear the most beautiful sari and make it look atrocious if you are not comfortable. #askmehowIknow 🤔

Wear a lehenga or a salwar or even an embellished gown. You can make anything "Indian" with accessories more so in the west than in India IMO. Things like payal, flowers in the hair, jhumkas, a kada, a statement necklace all make an outfit "Indian" IMO.But use one or two not the whole Khandaani jewels.

Speaking of, my second most sincere advice. Please do not become a human version of a christmas tree and pile on the jewels so that you disappear. For how not to do it, look at Aishwarya Rai wedding pictures. She is completely buried in jewels and you do not see her. How to do it is the next day when they went to Tirupati IMO. You see her and her beautiful face.

thanks for all your help guys but i was considering maybe a lengha this time cause yes i don't have the comfort and elegance to carry off a sari !

any ideas for lenghas ?!

I feel DP is the best when it comes to Indian wear, I would just check out her instagram if I were you 😆

If you are not comfortable do not wear a Saree. You will be better off wearing an anarkali or patiala suit. Don't go for ultra flashy unless it is close family. Kuch bhi contrast me le lo. Jo bhi buy karne wali ho do show me and i will help you chose.

I have 20 years experience in clothes.
