Salman Khan was not awarded Best Debut Male during the ceremony since there was no catergory called Best Debut Male. He was awarded much later after the filmfare was criticized for awarding Aamir Khan the best debutante award for QSQT which was not his first film, he did his 1st film Holi with ketan mehta. That year the Best Newcomer award was given to Sooraj R.Barjatya.

its Hrithik so they wont give him an ATBB i dont see why it didnt an ATBB tag with low budget and very high net collections

Many actors have had Blockbuster Debuts. Rishi Kapoor(Bobby), Sunny Deol(Betaab), Aamir Khan(QSQT), Jackie Shroff(Hero) come to mind.

As for why Border is an ATBB and KNPH is not, is that Border has 3.5 M footfalls compared to 3 M for KNPH, thats a massive difference. 3 Million is just about the threshold for Blockbuster/ATBB. Could go either way in that case.

Buddy, films which you have taken names are also respective hits when came, but none came even close to what MPK was.

1980-89

1970-79

Bobby, Betaab, Love Story, Ek Duje ke Liye, QsQt, any film you can see, they all couldn't even cross 10 Cr. MPK was ATBB with 14 Cr business which was decade's biggest hit, 2nd All Time grosser film which held record till 1993 Aankhen came, that film also couldn't cross MPK business, was just able to equal 14 cr mark. It was Salman's HAHK which broke all records after that.
