Rajinikanth starrer got a great buzz around the corner with almost every houseful show in USA and Tamil Nadu. Bengaluru offices even observed holiday remark release of the film. The movie was one of the most anticipated films after Salman Khan'sSultan. Rajinikanth can be seen playing roles like a young man in his early 60s.
The gangster drama and action movie is directed by veteran director PA Ranjith, who had already passed his various blockbuster movies at the BO. Rajinikanth is also known as the king of box office collections in the south Indian market.

The early reports estimated the earnings from South Indian from Tamil version market to be more than 12 crore rupees itself. While the shows in other languages the movie performed bit up to the expectations. Hindi version had reportedly earned around 13 crore rupees on the first day. 4 crores for Telugu version and 2 crores from Malay.
Overall Domestic collections lie between 28-32 crores on the first day. The overseas earnings are always a surplus. Although the domestic reports are based on occupancy observed during the morning and the evening shows, actual figure may differ.
Overseas earnings remain on the peak from the United States and Canada. With over more than 60% houseful shows during the day, tickets were also sold for prices like never before. The craze was himself witnessed by the superstar in the US on the release day. Getting the biggest ever release in the US, the movie was released on over 710 screens.

From the United States, Film beat the record of $404,566 Lingaa and $1,382,076 Bahubali. Cine Galaxy informed about the same by tweeting that$1,922,995 had been already earned as of 4 pm EST. The total final BO earnings from the United States remains $1,922,995 Million or 1.28 crore Indian Rupees.
The earnings from Dubai and other Gulf countries was around 1.4 crore rupees. It also demolishes record of any other Bollywood movie, the last record was held by PK for $1,418,817.
The other countries were also not behind as the film earned 93,835 from the United Kingdom and 41,280 from France. The earnings were whooping from all around the world. Also from the mainstream countries, the movie also received good response from Malaysia.
