It's been 3 months after their marriage. Everything felt perfect for them. Maan was recovering but was still under medications. Geet took good care of him. Maan was lucky to have a caring life partner beside him. Geet was distant from her parents. Geet's father was heartbroken & disappointed of their marriage. He had almost cut off ties with his daughter. Neeta always prayed for her daughter's happiness. She knew that Geet was always right. Though she supported Geet's decision, she was helpless in uniting the father-daughter duo. Geet was sad deep inside as she never wanted to hurt her father, but at the same time she cannot leave Maan who means the world to her. She hoped that one day her father will understand everything. Till then she chose to stay low.
'Geet..?'
'Hmm..?'
'I can't believe I survived' Maan took a deep breath after reminiscing the past.
'I knew it!' 'I always had faith.' Geet replied while giving a smooth head massage to him. It made him feel soothed.
'How did you know?'
'I know that God cannot snatch away my Maan. He won't do it.'
'Are you sure?'
'Yes!'
'What if I fall sick again?'
'Shut up Maan!' Geet pinched him hardly.
'Ouch! That hurts'
'Your words are even more hurtful' Geet replied in a low tone.
Maan looked at her. He was just trying to mess with her.
'I'm sorry Geet. I didn't really mean it. I was just joking.'
'Dare you make such jokes. Stop it Maan! You are giving me negative vibes. Nothing is gonna happen to you. You have got through it. You will be perfectly fine soon.'
'I know! I'm sorry again. How can I forget the sacrifices you made on behalf of me. I love you Geet.' He stood up and gave a gentle kiss on her forehead.
'I love you even more,' Geet smiled.
'No I love you more!' Maan winked.
'Nooo! I love you more than you love me!' Geet hit his chest playfully.
'Are you sure?'
'Yes!'
'Let me show how much I love you!' Maan winked. He started unbuttoning his shirt.
'Maan?' Geet was shocked with his unexpected movement.
He pulled her closer & put his hands over her waist.
'Uh.. Maan.. stop it!' Geet was blushing.
'Shh! Maan put her index finger on Geet's lips. In the next few seconds, he started kissing her passionately. Geet couldn't resist him anymore. In another few minutes of time they were on bed, enjoying each other's company.
They were making love till midnight. Both of them were exhausted and were sleeping cuddled up. After a couple of hours, Maan was awaken due to a severe thirst & a headache. He felt as if he was going to die of dehydration. He spread out his hand to find water but all he found was an empty glass on the nearby bed cupboard.
He got out of the bed & realized that he was all naked. He searched for his clothes which were scattered on the floor. They were thrown here and there due to the extreme excitement of last night. He dressed up in his pants and T-shirt. He was looking at her wife, who was sleeping peacefully. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead & covered her bare body with the duvet to keep her warm.
He walked to the kitchen. He poured a glass of water for himself. He wasn't getting any better. The pain was increasing. He felt the same which he felt during his wedding day. He started feeling dizzy and his vision was blurred in the next few minutes. He was feeling suffocated. He wanted to cry out for help but he felt that he couldn't shout anymore, or even open his mouth. He was all blank.
Geet was awaken to the sudden lightening struck that night. It was almost raining heavily. She was afraid of the loud thundering. She ran her hands on the bed, searching for Maan. She wanted to snuggle up to him, seeking protection. But he wasn't there.
'Maan?' She got up. She assumed that may be he has gone to the washroom. She waited for another few minutes. But there was no response of him.
'Maan where are you?' Madhu was confused.
She put on her clothes and got out of the bed, searching for Maan. She checked the bathroom but nobody was there.
'Maan?' She was searching him. She straightaway went to the kitchen assuming that he would have gone there to either eat or drink as once she had caught him midnight eating, snacks.
Geet was shocked at the very next moment as she witnessed something horrifying. She couldn't believe her eyes. Maan was on the floor, lying lifelessly.
'Maan!!' She screamed top of her lungs.
'Maan!!' 'Maan please wake up!' 'Are you kidding me?' 'Please! Enough of drama!' Wake up!' She cried. But there wasn't a single response from him. She almost shook him with fear, trying to get him back to senses. She quickly kissed his forehead a few times, but Maan did not respond.
'Maa!!' Geet called Savitri for help.
Within a few minutes Maan was rushed to the hospital. Geet & Maan's parents were worried about his condition. They were impatiently waiting outside. Geet was resting her head on Savitri's shoulder. She had been crying for hours.She silently prayed to God to save her Maan.
The doctor informed them that Maan's condition was bad. He had almost lost his consciousness. His body was connected to a life support machine. He had gone into a coma. Geet's world shattered in to pieces. She cursed God for being unfair to her. It was no less than 6 months since it all happened, once again she had to undergo the same trauma.
Geet went inside the room where Maan was lying on the bed lifelessly. His was depending on a machine. Geet could not believe what happened. It was like a horrible nightmare. Tears started flowing from her eyes. She gently caressed his forehead.
'Maan please wake up! Please Maan. How many days are you gonna keep me stressed out like this? Hmm?' 'Please wake up!' 'I want you. I miss you so much. Please just open your eyes once. Please open your eyes and look at me!'
Geet broke down holding his hand. His hand was almost swollen due to the cannula attached to his hand.
It was so hard for her to leave Maan each time. She didn't want to leave her Maan for a second. Unfortunately she wasn't allowed to stay overnight by him. Days passed and there was no such progression. But Geet didn't let go of her courage and faith.
It was almost 10 days since Maan was unconscious. Geet received a call from the hospital that Maan has gained consciousness. He had opened his eyes. Geet's happiness knew no bounds. She thanked god silently and rushed to the hospital.
There she saw her Maan seated on the bed. Looking at the door. Geet hurried inside.
'Maan!' Geet hugged him tightly. She was confused as he did not hug her back.She broke the hug and cupped his face.
'Maan.. Maan you are fine right? Hmm? You are now alright na?' 'Please look at me.' Madhu was a bit tensed as he was looking somewhere blankly. She made himself look at her.
'Maan look at me! I'm here. Please stop this! I know you are acting! Please stop it. You have made me scared for a long. Now please stop it. Get back to normal please!' She cupped his face again.
'Maan.' Geet cried looking at his pale face. He was staring at her furiously. Who are you?' His question broke Geet into million pieces.
'Maan?' Geet's hands dropped from his face. 'Maan! what has happened to you?' 'Maan! why are you behaving like this? Stop it for god's sake! I'm your Geet.' 'Please stop messing up with me.' Geet was afraid to even think of that he had lost his memory. She wanted to believe that it was all fake & Maan was acting.
The next incident made Geet even more shocked. Maan almost pushed her aside furiously.
'Aaah' Maan held his head with pain. He started crying in pain. Geet was shocked. She called the doctor in the very next second. She couldn't believe what was happening in front of her. Maan started behaving violently trying to remove the tubes connected to him. The doctors surrendered him with an injection.
Later Geet was called inside the Doctor's cabin. The doctor informed her that the condition has worsen as Maan has gone for a memory loss. The unexpected news made Geet broke down. She had never felt this much helpless before. She didn't know what to do. The doctor pacified her to keep faith. They were trying their best to make Maan normal again.
Days passed but there were no progression on his health. A part of him was paralyzed as well. He couldn't walk properly. Geet's life became miserable again. Maan's parents were also saddened by the fact that their son cannot recognize his own parents.
Finally Maan was taken home, as his health was improved slightly. Maan's family couldn't afford him to keep him in the hospital any further. Days passed but the condition was almost the same. Maan was no less than an infant. He couldn't do most of his work alone. Geet fed him, cleaned him all by herself, taking good care of her husband.
It's been 1 and a half months since Maan fell sick for the 2nd time. Geet wasn't feeling well for the past couple of days. She felt dizzy with a severe headache. She was feeding Maan. It was painful, yet Geet controlled her pains as she wanted to concentrate on feeding him. She couldn't wait any longer. The spoon dropped from her hand.

Geet opened her eyes. She was confused. She couldn't see her Maan near by.
'Maan..?' She called out.
'Geet..' 'How are you feeling now?' She heard a voice. It took her a while to recognize that it was there family doctor.
'Geet..' Savitri caressed her hair.
'Maa.. what happened?' 'Why..? Where is Maan?'
'Geet you were fainted a while back. How are you feeling now?' The doctor inquired.
'Uh.. I don't know. I think I'm alright. But Maan.. where is he?' Geet was impatient.
'Relax Geet! Maan is fine.' 'I think you should rest now. You should take good care of yourself from now on.' The doctor replied.
'Yes Geet!' Savitri caressed her face with a smile.
'Why?' Geet was confused. 'I want to go to Maan.' Geet hurried to get down from the bed.
'Geet be careful!' Savitri stopped her.
'Why Maa? Don't worry I'm perfectly fine now!'
'Geet listen.' Savitri took Geet's hand & kept it on her tummy.
'Maa?' Geet was confused.
'You & my Maan's little baby is growing inside you.'
'What?' Geet was shocked with the unexpected news.
Savitri nodded her head, smiling.
'Yes Geet. Congratulations! You are pregnant.' The doctor confirmed.
'From now on you should be very careful.' 'I have prescribed some medicines. Please take them on time & take good care of yourself.' 'I know that you are facing a difficult situation right now with your husband's illness, but you cannot neglect your to unborn baby right?'
Geet couldn't speak a word. She was still in a state of a shock. She reminisced their romantic night right before Maan fell sick for the second time.
'Hope he recovers soon Geet. He will be absolutely happy to hear about this.'
Then the doctor departed.
Geet didn't speak a word, instead she started crying, hugging Savitri. It was something she had always looked forward to, have a baby with Maan. But it was not the right time. She wanted to run and share the good news with Maan. But she knew that he would not even care, as he hasn't even recognized his own wife yet.
Geet was caressing Maan's hair. He has fallen asleep. It was a dark night, yet stars shone brightly in the sky. Geet felt that it was no less than her life. Her life has turned out to be dark like the night sky, but she had faith. She never gave up. Hopes bloomed inside her like the shining stars in the dark night sky.
'Maan..' 'You don't know how I was eager to experience this moment. Breaking my pregnancy news to you one day!' 'That day is finally here. I know you would dance all over, going crazy with this good news if you were well.' 'I can't believe that all what I had been dreaming isn't happening right now. I know you would not care about this even if I tell you about our baby'.
'How long Maan? how long will you be like this?' 'Please come back!' 'I need you. I need your care and protection. Our baby needs you.' Geet spoke with tears. She slowly kept his hand on her tummy.
'Maan, you cannot miss these moments. Please come back to my life.' Geet shed tears silently. She couldn't sleep that night. Life was getting tougher and tougher for her.
Geet's pregnancy brought a little bit of brightness in their lives but Geet was saddened by the fact that Maan hasn't recognized her yet. It's been almost 3 months since Maan has fallen sick for the second time & Geet was in the end of her first trimester.
Maan's condition got further worsen as he fell a sick again for the third time. He was admitted to the hospital once again. The doctors inquired Geet if Maan had missed any dose of medicines.
Geet nodded with guilt as she couldn't give Maan medicine on time as they were running out of money. They couldn't afford the monthly cost of Maan's expensive medicines. Khurana family was on a financial crisis. Geet sought help from her mother. Neeta gave some money but it lasted only for few days. They didn't have any income except the income from their lands. But they were also sold out for Maan's previous surgery and medications.
Geet decided find a job. She left her job as an accountant right after her marriage to take care of Maan. She realized that she need to start earning in order to save Maan. She didn't want to lose him.
'Geet! are you mad?' 'How come you work in this condition?' 'Don't forget that you are pregnant' Savitri disapproved her decision.
'I can't help it Maa.. I cannot let Maan suffer more. I need to cure him'
'Please don't stop me! Trust me. Everything is going to be okay. I promise! I will take care of me. Our baby is also strong like me. He or she will also start fighting with mommy to save daddy. We will do it Maa..' Geet spoke courageously.
Then Geet & Savitri shared a warm hug. Savitri was proud of her daughter-in-law who was no less than an own daughter for her.
Geet started applying for several jobs. She went to several interviews but she wasn't selected to any of those. She was disappointed and heart broken. One fine day she was informed that she has been selected to a finance company.
Geet started working as an assistant accountant & within weeks she was appointed as a secretary of the managing director of it as she was working hard. Life was a secretary was difficult for her. She had work till late night some days, yet she worked as she knew that there was no other way to get through that hurdle of life, curing her Maan.
It was almost late night, Geet was working on the office. The managing director Aditya Singhania entered her cabin.
'Hi Geet!' He sat on her desk. Aditya seemed to be a mysterious character. Geet got to know from the staff office that he has changed ever since Geet joined the company. The staff was surprised to see their boss working till late night like never before. Geet always made sure that she is safe from him as she got to know how flirty he was with the previous secretaries. Geet had no choice than working under him.
'Hi sir.' Geet greeted him simply, concentrating on her work.
'Aren't you done yet?'
'No sir. Just a few more left.'
'Oh alright! Wanna share a coffee with me hun?' He winked. Geet was shocked with his behavior but she was on alert.
'No sir thanks' 'I have to finish off these work and go home soon.'
Aditya came closer. He dropped the pen of Geet.
'Sir! what are you doing?'
'Uh.. sorry! Just wanted you to have a rest. You can do it even tomorrow.'
'No sir I want to finish this off quickly. So I can go home early tomorrow. I have to take my husband to the hospital.
'Oh! By the way how is your husband?' 'Any better?'
'He is recovering' Geet replied.
'Oh! But I heard he is not at all conscious. I mean he is not in his senses right?'
'Hmm..' Geet continued her work.
'Well! I'm surprised to see such a sacrificing wife like you!'
'Are you sure that he will get cured?'
'Sir?' Geet frowned at him.
'Oh! sorry darling. I didn't mean it. But for how long you are gonna do these things huh? How do you exactly know that he will be fine?'
'I know! I have faith. He is going to be fine!'

'Oh! why? are you uncomfortable?' Aditya winked.
'Umm..' Geet didn't reply.
'Okay then I'll directly ask it. Geet don't you think all what you are doing is useless? I mean, you never know. May be he won't get cured ever. What if he stays sick for the whole life time?'
Madhu was irritated by his question. She ignored answering it.
'Oh! why are you silent? Did you get a reality check?' Aditya chuckled.
'What if he dies soon? any plans of re-marrying?' Aditya blurted out such shameless questions he could ever ask from Geet.
Geet lost her patience. Geet slapped him tightly. 'Yes! Now I got a reality check on what kind of a person you are, Mr. Aditya Singhania!' Geet's hands reacted before her brain. She couldn't stand him anymore. She left the office premises as soon as possible.
Aditya was shocked with Geet's reaction. At the same time he felt defeated.
'Hahaha! Let's see Geet! You will regret this slap for sure!' He smirked.
