Our lives our determined by routines and patterns we follow. Some usual and others extraordinary. These routines are choice based. Preferences that are either influenced by our family unit, are faith or socio economic reasons.All from the highest to the lowest common denominator face making selections in the our day to day lives from the simplest ones of what to eat ,wear, or how to placate ourselves and lessen upsets in our lives. In making choices however big or small a degree of sharpness of insight about the choice and foresight of its far reaching effects is always handy to bear in mind. However one thing is clear that with every choice we undertaken there are two or more possibilities we are faced with. Like in the episode, one way or the other Viplav , Dhani and Kamini grapple over the issue of divorce dangling above their heads. It not a piece of paper but choice determines the way forward in the lives of these characters.
Kamini is under the impression that leaving the divorce issue now in Dhani's court will have positive far reaching effects. Viplav will in turn be served divorce papers by the noble Dhani and he will return crying all the way back to her. But as such, events don't quite turn out according to the wicked witch's manipulations. Viplav returns physically present before her but mentally and emotionally as his blank face shows he's miles away with Dhani. But the queen of guile turns on the waterworks ,probes him does he wish to return to her? Viplav has had enough and as such, his redeeming grace is he play a clean game , tells Kamini up front he went to Dhani to get answers from her, for his questions. She protests so it seems she dangles between his question and her answer! The witch connives, and becomes the willing generous wife who will pull herself out between Dhani and him. She puts on an emotional performance before Viplav where as a more or less abandoned wife! she will take Atharva and leave !But him she allows to go to Dhani. Basically, this witch plays the same moral card that Dhani played. Sacrificing her love for Viplav and his present wife and child. She is smart enough to realize that by releasing Viplav she will in fact gain him back as he too like that stupid Dhani has noble ideals and as such he will morally give way! and stand by her and their son! the good man lays his predicament bare before Kamini , Dhani has left him , he hasn't left her, it was her decision .Tells Kamini its not her fault .. he married her , Atharva is his son, as a father he knows full well his sense of responsibility .. but Kamini seeks an answer from him as well.. is she then his responsibility only?and Dhani his love? he will have to make a choice one way or another ! between her or Dhani? yes she gets him by his sense of morals and fair play Viplav makes a choice , tells her to pack the bags as they are heading back for Banaras! basically the one way or the other,the decision Viplav takes is with a mind under duress! It's to me, just to get motor mouth off his back! as a temporary measure for VT is a bit of rebel who does his own thing! transforms from a demon into a guardian angel!
The witch reckons her performance once again works wonder on the wounded lion! mind you thanks goes to Viplav's too for being a thorough gent as well! But she cares not about anyone else but herself. Little does she know that news does travels fast! Even though the adults don't see eye to eye their kiddies do! Atharva, little boy blue phones the flower fairy tells her he's leaving for Banaras with his mum and dad! the flower fairy can only make sense of one thing her demon uncle was leaving! she bursts into tears. Her caring mum and nanny want to know why the tears? Children are cherubs they give reasons and make demands too?why was he leaving? Dhani replies he wasn't here to stay!vidha asks innocently, she wants to see him to say goodbye! Dhani's heart sinks viplav is leaving? Obvious hurt shakes her emotionally and makes it worse when Vidha kicks up a fuss !she wants to say good bye to him, tries coaxing her nanny to take her to him! Dhani loses her grip! lashes out on her five year old flower fairy!she needs to get ready for school the school bus will arrive any time. But Vidha cannot understand her mother's stress and argues. Till Dhani screams at her and the child runs off.. but Dulari is present and gives Dhani a mouthful for her appalling behaviour. Tells her straight if she wants to live on her own so be it! but don't stop the child from seeing her father! Dhani comes out with a possible underlying emotional issue.. no! as her Vidha's mother, its best her daughter stays away from her father!! she did !and survived so will Vidha . Is Dhani passing on her emotional trauma of growing up without a fathers love on to vidhu? wants the flower fairy to suffer similar pain? or keeping Vidha away from Viplav is a plain and simple way of punishing Viplav for abandoning them? One way or another ? Dulari sets her right, with a possible insinuation! Yes Dhani stayed without a father who chose to be absent because he didn't care for her! Dulari however makes Dhani face the fact that Viplav loves her and more so his daughter Vidha. Whichever way she sees it Viplav loves them both! and storms off. For the first time Dhani begins to see the folly of pushing aside the truth that Vidha is Viplav's child.. Dhani evaluates her behaviour how erratic its become? She lashes out regardless, on the two most beloved people in her life.. maai and vidhu.. and what of Viplav? the rose with a thorn ..the flower that gives her less joy and fragrance but more sweet pain...but she hurt him too. what's wrong with her?
Kamini's balloon of complacency ,that Dhani has gone from their life forever is popped!tickets sent by Viplav reveal that only her and Atharva will be travelling to Banaras and not him!right its time for him to confront him. She reckons the ticketing agency made a mistake. Meanwhile celebrations are in order in the humble ghettos! One of Dhani's knight's Parshiya returns victorious as the winner of the cycle race!the throbbing boom of the drums brings Dhani out of her house .From the threshold of her house she watches Parshiya hoisted high up on the shoulders of his friends! the cadence calls forth vigorous dancing! Dhani watches from far , but Parshiya friends dare him to call Dhani to dance to but he shuts them down telling its not appropriate timing.. Parshiya may be in love with Dhani, but in the back ground he always keeps in mind that it stands one sided.Dhani is pleased of course but it's hard for her to block out her flower fairy's cry of despair at the departure of her demon uncle! this was her child's tears ,who for the moment seems happy in Parshiya s arms, but then vidhu's love for Viplav Dhani saw in her daughters eyes.. she pushes the thought at the back of her mind. Well vidhu will have to learn to live with the fact that demon uncle was just passing through! reflects Dhani.
As his wife ,Kamini arrives at Viplav's room to clarify issues with Viplav. His missing ticket is the query, but instead Kamini gets his distant aloofness in her face! she reckons its some mistake! Calmly Viplav discloses the correction for what is perceived as a mistake by Kamini, no! she is going back to Banaras with their son . repeats to her,he regrets having to say this to her , but he needs answers from Dhani. That Kamini is right when she suggested to him that some solution needs to found either one way or another! Once he finds out the truth of what Dhani has to say to him he will return to Banaras .Kamini clings on, she'll stay too but coldly he rebuffs her she needs to leave!Atharva is disappointed but Viplav consoles his son ,he will talk to him on the phone and keep him up to date with the levels he reaches on his video games! In terms of progressive levels, Kamini finds herself still at the bottom end of of the level of love with Viplav she may have had his son but she ends up being Viplav's responsibility not the woman he loves.. that privilege Dhani holds! But for her too now its become a this way or that way situation!
The colour of Ishq isunpredictable ,my beloved.. when things are going one way!celebrations are in order and Dhani too decides to shake a leg on her flower fairy's request..all joy turns to bad news! A man acting on behalf of a company of property developers turns up and serves the ghetto community notice to vacate their dwellings within a fortnight's notice or else their property and belonging will come under the roll of the demolition bull dozer! There is uproar! from the vulnerable home owners! The scene is a peep into the risky situation of poor people having to forgo their property and belongings, being exposed to displacement and homelessness under the ruthless expansion of new start of the arts shopping acrades.All in the name of progress. A disregard to the quality of life of needy people. This scene with all its dismay and desolation is yet another setting for Dhani's two knights to stand up and fight injustice in their own inimitable styles! One will fight with brawn!while the other with his brain! may the people of the chawl emerge victorious!
The brawny knight Parshiya is ready to strike the mouth off the men from the company!well would do you know , unreasonable Dhani suddenly finds her grey matter ! rebuffs Parshiya for his uncalled for bravado! reminds him it's a legal matter they want him to cause disruption so they can press charges ! Dhani suggests they need to get a good lawyer! bite your tongue Dhani! the lion prowls this urban jungle! The women of the ghetto moan about giving up their homes with their families!the men stress lawyers cost money . One woman asks the golden question! Who will help us then?
He will help! roars the lion! as he walks majestically , and faces the mixed crowd of sad people! Amongst them is his gob smacked love Dhani! and his life the sugar plum fairy his Vidha! Who smiles at him and owns him by calling out demon uncle! his feet walk towards his flower fairy and he strokes her chin with affection.. and casually asks , he hears they need a lawyer? there is worry about his fees since he's a renowned lawyer! Viplav wavers the subject and wants to see the papers which he rudely pulls out of Dhani's hands with I'll take those darlin' look on face! but Dhani pulls him out of the crowd and yells at him wasn't he meant to leave for Banaras? he'll have to go! hasn't he done enough! that now he turns up with this new game he growls back in her face what's her problem? Why does she twist everything he does! and starts equating it to personal issues between him and her? He growls, he knows she doesn't need him but the people need his expertise ! and sorry to disappoint her miss sour puss! he is going to help them! returns and tells the people he'll help! and he glares at Dhani and says, he never loses a case! well Dhani wants him to leave but the people give him full support and now this knight who'll fight the ghetto community s case with his brain , knowledge and arguments is hoisted up on peoples shoulders !viplav life his flower fairy is over the moon she gives him the thumbs up!! .. though Dhani and Parshiya appear not too pleased! Once back on his feet Viplav drops another bomb on Dhani making it clear to buchiya he's here to stay! With regards to his fees he only needs a place to put up here in the ghetto! Amongst the people so he can live amidst them to take into account their pressing problems! as substantial problems to strength their case! Dhani has FB's of how he came and settled in the ashram five years ago and not only did he win the ashram case but also won her heart!! too! and too top it all! kaki gives him a room in her home a room next to Dhani's she couldn't believe her ears and storms off back into her house! viplav sides his narrow lion like eyes and chuckles inside, she may not like his being here his beloved but look at all these people who want him to stay! Vidha comes to him and beams up at him!now demon uncle will be living right in front of her house and so he'll play with her every day! but a neighbour renames him as their protector! Not a demon! Dhani in a huff goes into the house! Parshiya comes in all militant ready to beat Viplav! as he camped here to give her grief !dhani bites his head off! for being hot headed! assures him Viplav's presence doesn't matter to her but if its for fighting the case for the community then where's the harm. Here comes the rebel with a cause! The colour of Ishq is to win back by good deeds his beloved.. you see my beloved Dhani ,your Viplav is not that bad as you make him out to be! Hamlet53 5.7.16
