I've been AWOL from the forum for quite some time now, I quit the show when Adarsh started acting like a love-sick idiot, started watching again when I found out the love drama was over and the real drama is beginning!!
I've followed this show since day 1 and I'd like to applaud Swa šš I believe everyone in the Sinhas & Ramakrishnans has a misdiagonsed sense of justice and truth, a sense that serves their own twisted purposes, even at times Adarsh. I'm not blaming the grieving brother here, I'm just stating the facts. I read in a post earlier that his sense of truth and duty and rights are "what the rich perceive to be the commoner's rights", and I couldn't agree more.
Amidst all this we have a girl who stands by her principles and the true definition of justice, a justice that is the same for rich and poor irrespective of the religions and status! She is Swadheenta Ramakrishanan-Sinha. Swa's character never for a moment falters, even if everyone tells her otherwise. She held her brother's coffin, tried to console her Mamu-Mami, she's herself in immense pain of losing her beloved baby brother, the one constant in her life, yet she stands strong to those who call her family ill. Still she never forgets her duties towards the Sinhas, who grieve for their lost son and forget the pain of a grieving sister and daughter.
I absolutely loved it when she stood up to Adarsh regarding the press conference. I don't blame the Sinhas coz honestly they weren't that well acquainted with the Jilani's, they know nothing about Asad and Swa's bond, but how could the Ramakrishnans question it?
"Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right.
This nation was founded on one principle above all else: The requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world -- "No, YOU move."
Yesterdays epi reminded me so much of this quote, it doesn't matter if the entire world is against her, Swa is sticking by her truth, the one truth that her brother and Mamu are innocent. I know it wont be an easy ride, but nothing important ever is!
Kudos to Tridha for portraying Swadheenta so well.
I'm so proud to have such a character in a show that i watch!
