I believe that it is unfair to judge people when they are at their lowest. So far, in every situation where Adarsh has been accused, he has not been entirely in the wrong. He is normally someone who reacts based on evidence. Is evidence points against Asad, he will accept it. Now, in this situation, Adarsh deserves his space and time to grieve that way he deems best. We are not in his position, so it is hardly fair for us to comment.
Also, before we analyse characters, we should put ourselves in their shoes once. Hate, Disgusted are very strong words for people that these characters are portraying. A lot of us are exactly like these characters. I have been living in my neighborhood for over 4 years. On occasions, I bake cakes and food for a few of my neighbors. To that extent, I know them. I chat with them every time I see them outside, on the streets, etc. But tomorrow, if I am told by the cops that one of them is a criminal, I will take the cops word for it. I may not turn my face away if I see the person, but I will be weary about believing them, entering their house etc... and I will do this without proof. Because I am concerned, for my safety, for the safety of my family. Unfortunately we live in that kind of a world today. So, does that make me disgusting? It should, right? I know them for 4 years... shouldn't I be more supportive? It doesn't happen like that.
Your daughter just got married. Her life is at stake. Her in-laws have a reputation in the city where they live. Would you not be concerned? I totally understand her parents stance too. They are worried for her. And the Jilani's were their neighbors many years ago. They don't know them so well.
I don't hate any of them! I can relate with the way they are reacting to this present situation.
