Before i start the shot tonite .. lemme first of all thank all of you ... each time u guys appreciate what we write .. its encouragement for us to pen ... each time u ask for a new Shot .. its a pat on the back ... Its great to know what one writes strikes a cord ... so a humble thank u ...

Thank u Indrani .. every discussion i have wit you ... my thots clear up more ... every time i answer a query of yours the script opens up a bit more ... Thank u ...

Ok one last one .. totally stray thot ... ( a try for levity) ... Nirmala giving Suman lessons on managing relationships was way to funny for me ... i dunno if u guys felt the same ... but it was laughable ... wish she practised half of what she professed in her relationships of the past ... ( b***hy i know)

While watching the Wednesday episode ... much more than the precap .. i wanted to see the Vandy & Chachi scene tonite ... coz this moves the story forward ...

(A quick tip .. story is different from screenplay .. screenplay is the scene by scene narrative of the story ... the story is the big picture ...)

I have often written that the way the writer of the show decided to narrate this story is that each character in the show will ultimately be a cupid to the main love story ... & today chachi joined the party ... what game she will play will ultimately obliterate the biggest hurdle in the love story of Shravan & Suman ... ( not going to go into this more for now) ...

According to chachi ... Shravan left for LONDON coz his mother left them ... what she is not privy to is the love letter hidden in the crossword book ... a book he guards from her wit a snap ... she does not as yet know the Suman angle ... but inadvertently .. she is going to be the cause of yet another misunderstanding between the love birds ... how successful she is in her scheme .. well we all know the answer to this one ...

THE OTHER SIDE OF ME ... SUMAN

She was young she was misguided ... she was abandoned .. she was a nobody living on the largesse of her extended family ... it made this young girl selfish ... well she had to grab & hold what she got in life .. she had lost to much ... it made this young girl ... shallow ... (well which 16 year ild girl is not shallow) ... she had to be accepted she had to be the centre of the universe ... coz she was a displaced entity .. someone who had to borrow ... so she grabbed what she could ... it had to be about her .. coz her life was completely out of her hands ...

she grew up .. she matured ..she became sensitive ... ever wonder how this metamorphosis happened ... it happened when she LOST & when she LOST this time it was not due to fate ...but due to her own carelessness & selfishness ... this time as well she lost her anchor ... but this time she dropped the anchor not fate ...

While she knew she had wronged him ... & she had tried to explain her immaturity to him at her mothers house ( got a thank u for the same) ...she apologised for that one incident ... when she ragged him at school & was not there for him when he needed her most ...

What she did not ever realise the school rag was only the icing on the cake ... that was not the first time she had broken that heart to a million pieces ...

Did this girl need to introspect ...yes she needed to do that ... she needed to see THE OTHER SIDE OF ME ... the side which gave hurt ...

She also needed to see the other side of the suave lawyer ... coming unhinged due to her ... she needed to see she had the power to hurt ... & hurt him big ... she needed to see the side mask slip ... she needed to hear ... she was important .. hence she was missed ...( how important she does not yet know)

She needed to introspect ..she needed to move the lens off herself & consider HIM ...

THE OTHER SIDE OF ME ... SHRAVAN ...

From episode 1 ... we see a guy full of angst ... his past has framed him today ... his belief that Love hurts ... his belief that relations do not last the test of time ... commitments even life long ones do not stand up to time ... all are a direct result of what he saw in his past ..some of which happened to him & some which happened to his dad ...

This angst came boiling to the surface once before .. when his father is presumed dead ... but for most times it is buried deep inside him ...

To add to all this he has a confusion burning up inside him ... his mind & heart are at war .. the mind wants him to RUN .. the heart wants him to EMBRACE ... he is fighting the toughest argument of his life ... what to do about his love ... when he gets an sms .. which reads ... OUR FRIENDSHIP IS NO MORE ...

Was that enuf of a trigger .. hell yea ..it was ... it had to be ... the angst comes pouring out .. & we see THE OTHER SIDE OF ME ...

the young love which went unrequited ... a young friend who was unjustly used ( najayaz fayda) ...hissab barabar ... did he not try doing this himself ... all of this lit a million triggers in him ...

he was the one who was taken undue advantage of .. he was the one who had wanted to do hissab barabar ... he was the one who did not want to keep the friendship ... coz he was the one who wanted to move this relation to another place ...

pause here pls (lol honestly werent u guys waiting for pause) ... in my last wine shot in a discussion with rekha .. i wrote ... the decision to make friends was of Suman's .. but the decision to move the friendship to another realm was Shravan's ...

But now he sees forget love .. the base friendship is in question ... & hence out comes THE OTHER SIDE OF ME ...

IMHO this was a most needed scene .. we as an audience needed to see Suman introspect on where she went wrong ... & he needed to take out the angst from his heart ... coz when u move to love .. u move as equals ... each is equal to the other ...

It is not love when it is unequal ... one can't be giving & one can't just be receiving ...

This scene set the foundation of the love confession ... (am not gonna tell u when that will happen) but trust u me it will be a dramatic one ..

One can also notch this up as the precursor to the bigger storm one sees blowing up soon .. the mother saga .. Nirmala coming out of the closet so to speak ... it takes u back to the episode where shravan;s marriage is discussed .. & he tells Sumo .. do not ever speak about my mother .. or we r thru ... 😳

Now u know i have a whacked up lens ... & i actually love catching the subtle nuances ... so here goes ... my moment of the episode ...

Most of u gushed about the 'I miss you' i wrote to indrani about this .. i told her this was about the past .. & this was about friendship .. but ofcourse the unrequited love made it that much more passionate (high time the writer introduced passion in the serial IMHO) ... it was about Sumo's realisation ... & introspection ...

But the real show stopper of the episode was the Shravan Pushkar convo ... where Shravan says ... UMEED JAG JAATI HAI ... here the mask slipped once again ... the man in love came out ...while on the surface he claims not to know of his feelings for her .. or he is in denial ... he does know what he feels .. but every time she FRIEND ZONES him .. his UMEED dies another death ...

his heart knows what his heart wants ... his heart is clearly speaking to him ... but his mind the logical side cautions him ... she does not LOVE HIM ... going this route will cause u HURT ...

now pause here pls ... go back to the episode when he stays back to help with Khosla case .. he says .. my mind & heart were at war ... my heart won .. coz my mind is messed up ...

was that about khosla ..nope it was about what he spoke tonite ... UMEED JAG JAATI HAI ...

This was pure stroke of genius of the writer .. this is called well rounded up writing .. that heart over mind dialog will revisit in another form soon ... but tonite .. the real meaning of that dialog was laid bare for us the viewer ... Take a bow the writer of the show ...

Haven't seen the precap .. so am not gonna write on that .. & the pushkar Sumo scene is incomplete .. so can't discuss that one either ...

But hell there was enuf food for thot in this episode ... in a way this episode was a cleanser ..one part of the past was laid bare ...

AS i end this shot ... i will ask u once more ... if the last time around the 2 lovers broke up due to another couple breaking up ... this time ( as per all script indicators .. major drama wit nirmala ouster coming up) around will they come together when 1 or 2 love stories come together ...
