Red, your insight and analysis are always beyond compare, but with your take on the "Umeed jaag jati hai" dialogue of Shravan Malhotra you literally had me jump out of my chair... Absolutely, that single moment held the key to the torment that these two find themselves in... Poor bachchas... 😭
Now here's a conundrum for Sumo: yes, she needs to give their relationship some space and not smother it, but how much? Give him too much space and you solidify his fear that Sumo is going to drop him whenever the going gets tough... This time, Shravan Malhotra knows, that he won't survive the fall... But phir bhi, umeed jaag jati hai...

Thanks Red!

Nirmala giving Suman lessons on managing relationships was way to funny for me ... i dunno if u guys felt the same ... but it was laughable ... wish she practised half of what she professed in her relationships of the past ... ( b***hy i know)

I can relate to Nirmala's advice. Regardless of who it came from, what she said is a fact - SPACE. Every living creature needs space to grow and be independent. Whether it is a plant or an animal or human. Space to grow, space to think, space to just be. Being crowded, being stifled, being coddled by a person or persons will do no good, and finally one will want to break free of the shackles of that relationship. And that is what Nirmala did. To love is also to give space. To let that person be. A plant can only flourish when there is space, light and the RIGHT amount of nutrients.

While watching the Wednesday episode ... much more than the precap .. i wanted to see the Vandy & Chachi scene tonite ... coz this moves the story forward ...

(A quick tip .. story is different from screenplay .. screenplay is the scene by scene narrative of the story ... the story is the big picture ...)

THE OTHER SIDE OF ME ... SUMAN

She was young she was misguided ... she was abandoned .. she was a nobody living on the largesse of her extended family ... it made this young girl selfish ... well she had to grab & hold what she got in life .. she had lost to much ... it made this young girl ... shallow ... (well which 16 year ild girl is not shallow) ... she had to be accepted she had to be the centre of the universe ... coz she was a displaced entity .. someone who had to borrow ... so she grabbed what she could ... it had to be about her .. coz her life was completely out of her hands ...

I disagree that all 16 year olds are shallow. Yes, to a small degree they are, heck, people remain shallow as adults too, to a small extent always. Thats being human. But there is a difference between being shallow, vain and being obnoxious. Rude. Uncaring. or plain insensitive. Sumo was some if not all of this in varying degrees. But it is ok to have had these qualities and moved on and evolved with time. And she has. Shravan has recognised the change, commented on it but when he risked loosing her again, the rational that makes him see things clearly got muddled with doubts, and he found himself in unchartered territory. A bit wobbly.

HOPE- what can one say about this word? Hope keeps the world going. But Hope dies every day. It is resurrected everyday. Juliet hoped Romeo would get her message and come, and so she drinks a potion that drugs her. Romeo hopes for a happy ever after with Juliet, but instead hears of her supposed death. He drinks poison by her 'grave'. Juliet wakes up and kills herself with his dagger. A sad misunderstanding.

Hope is everywhere - hope for an ice cream; Hope for shoes; hope for a way to walk, move; hope for peace; hope for war (in some!); hope for light; hope for rain; hope for rain to abate, when incessant droplets pelt down the make shift tent under which sit a family; hope for food; hope for safety - those millions of refugees moving mountains and crossing oceans? It is HOPE that drives them - UMEED, a beautiful word; hope for LOVE, hope for togetherness; hope for company; hope for privacy- HOPE is everywhere.
So I don't think Hope ever died in Shravan. It died, perhaps, but was resurrected always. And it placed him where he is today - unsure, shaky, unsteady emotionally and afraid.

I concur with u ... the advice was sound ... but my take was based on the serial ... it was sort of tickled my funny bone .. hence i tried bringing levity to the post 😳

Ahem yea i agree i guess ... most people are shallow at that tender age ... it is about me myself ... thats part of hitting puberty ...

Sumo's past frames her .. just like Shravan's past framed him ... its great that she grew into the girl she is today ..

When i write here i write about the serial ... & my impressions of it ... what u say is what i wrote ... do read it once again ... every time .. hope in his heart is resurrected ... it dies with her friend zoning him ... quid pro quid & what he feels is her UNINTERESTED MODE ... when hope was burning alive in her heart ..he friend zoned her as well .. the Umeed dialog found its first reference in the mind v/s heart dialog of Shravan's ... & that is what i was referring to ...

Yes I think Preekar and NirRam stories are going to open up.

Just one thought... we saw a super confident Shravan with Powder Puff aka Urvashi. This was the guy who came back from London. He was so confident even with Sumo and he did make her do things his way. The whole party scene was like him dating her and ditching her...

So... what is making him stay away now? Is it Sumo loving the current Shravan? Or is it that he wants Sumo to love the old Shravan? If it were only love... why is he not even trying? He only stares at her, doesnt touch her... comes close to her and does not kiss her!!

Was he not all macho and smooth? Where is that guy?

Hiya Poppinss ...

Congrats on turning green ... 😉

i love ur reference to Urvashi ... he could be the london suave lawyer with her coz he cared to hoots for her .. his emotions were not even scratched ...
When he came back from London .. he came to the thot ... Suman was the shallow girl who was totally self centered ... as he spent his days with her ... he realized & noticed the changes with her ... he understood the need to 'Fit in" that she had .. he did not know her back story .. on how she got orphaned ... he also saw her as the second citizen in her own home ... probably that cemented his new impressions of her .. & u saw the scales slip ... he had to be in the same orbit as Sumo .. so friendship it was ... something which did not hurt ... something which remained .. even under extreme circumstances ... it stood the test of time ..

Like in their case .. they could resurrect their friendship ...

But there is love ... theres love which resides in his heart & try how he might he is not able to obliterate the same ... it keeps bubbling to the surface ... he keeps trying his luck so to say .. the coming close .. the mild flirting ... but what he gets is FRIEND ZONE ... DISINTEREST ..( atleast this is what he reads it as)
Every time his vulnerability is exposed ... he becomes insecure .. coz he becomes a slave of his emotions .. an emotion he has lost faith in ...

U see in this very episode how he veers between the masked macho guy .. to the guy desperately in love in the pushkar scene ... just watch it once again .. u will get the essence of what i am saying here ...

His struggle comes out so strong in that scene ... his need to keep the mask which is rapidly slipping ...

Even when he gets up .. the desperate need to know that she called him .. justifying that action of why he couldn't see her missed call .. & then donning the mask of DISINTEREST ...

its a fab episode coz it revealed all that the writer was alluding to thru out the journey of this serial till date ... 😳

RES

Red...Super genius!! 👏👏Its 3 am here but your wine shot was eagerly awaited...😊 I am sleepy but I had to type this...Will come back to do more bak-bak but had to tell u this
I am so glad you have given the perspective of "NAJAYAZ FAYDA" in your wine shot...Btw, to my mind, a very clever use of a plot device to convey the thought that you have so beautifully expressed - The other side of me - Shravan...

I have been thinking of this TEXT message all day long yesterday, sent to SHRAVAN meant for SHIVAM perhaps applicable to SUMO yet not entirely so...coz it fits SHRAVAN this time around... I had thot of a title for my post _ IF THE SHOE FITs but lack of clarity on a few points stopped me from writing further..

Indrani and I had a discussion on Shravan yesterday...this other side of me - Shravan figured heavily in this...will post soon...THANK U SO MUCH...Red and Indrani...😊
