Did him friend-zoning her on the moonlit night affect her so much that she needs the constant affirmation of his feelings ?
I know they are in different frequency ranges but this one - him saying it aloud - falls in the overlap region for sure.

A conversation with the Devil (Satan) telling him I shall soon be reaching Pandemonium. What is Pandemonium? Pandemonium is Satan's den along with Mephistophilis and Beelzebub after his fall from Heaven.

Did you see Sumo whose inadvertent mistake made her travel 40 kms at breakneck speed to rectify that mistake? Did you see her confused and crying while going back home in her car? She who realized that there was not that one single incident that she had hurt him but that over the years the pain of Shravan has grown of which she was till date unawares. She who because of her own need to protect herself from giving in to love fearing that it might hurt her again engaged in a story-telling exercise that life's problem can be washed away if she makes it look simple. The story, of let there be only laughter and pain will automatically vanish. And, did you not see Devil that "Realization" is one of the hallmarks of etching, of writing a love story. You mentioned that "space" dialogue of Nirmala shall work in your favour, but what I saw was because of the space/distance from the turmoil that surrounds Shrav-Sumo, Pushakr managed to see the Truth. The truth which remains eternal and unchanging that of their love for each other and another truth which is eternal that you are forever dismissed from Heaven. Space, will destroy whatever love they have for each other, you say? But, then these ten years of distance reveals a different story. Space has only made one to miss her ever the more, to feel her presence in his everyday routine. Where his whole life is permeated by her presence, where his very identity is merged with her so that in thinking he is erasing her name he is actually obliterating himself. Devil, the word, "Obliterate" was explained by Red, one of the triumvirate of Angels whom you plagiarize at will. And the other (Sumo) to realize that whatever and whenever a distance shall spring up between the two, she will wait... till he and she shall meet. When there shall be no more any distances/spaces.

He who feared, he who was scarred, he who was time and again sidelined by his lady love, he whose parents were forever at loggerheads, he who knew that injection hurts yet went ahead with it because it meant life... healthy life. It was this confused guy whose own fluttering hopes crossed the threshold to create a symphony in the voice of another lonely heart. Yes, hopes and desires at times fail but, hadn't this hope or expectations not arisen the love story would not have begun in the first place. I know they are in different frequency ranges but this one - him saying it aloud - falls in the overlap region for sure.Trust you J, for pointed questions...Before I unres my post on this thread..I was fascinated by your questions and your points so I thought I will put out my rambling thoughts (they are not answers yet) out there so it can be negated or accepted or built upon by any number of wonderful writers on this forum..
I will preface my thoughts with a statement I believe in about love stories, there is no primacy of feelings in a love story. A love story is the story of two people and their journey in the realisation of love . Even if it may be possible for onlookers to speculate, the importance of who loves more pales next to the actual journey of the lovers. It is never possible to prove ever conclusively, who loves more in a relationship of love and that is the way it should be...Its just that we end up seeing a journey from a certain prism and we root for that character or have strong beliefs about that character. Again..that's natural. The only reason I have focused on Shrav so far in all my posts is his is the character that is getting unravelled first so to speak. Its Sumo who is hidden from us so far...Again the reasons, in my mind, are simple...A POV of a character unfolds or grows with the growth in that character graph...
Slowly Sumo is unravelling, not fully yet slowly...
There were an important scene in the day before yday's epi...
When he drops her back home...Sumo says...I don't know why u are once again going away from me?
This was followed by another important scene in yesterday's episode :
One a recollection and one a statement followed by a feeling of remorse (??)
Her FB shows here recollecting Shravan saying to her, "Jab tumhe kisse ka intezar karna padega tab tumhe pata chalega" and her flippant response
Yet, we viewers know she waited...we may not know in detail how she waited but waited she did!!The Girl who said she will never wait for anyone
This was followed by her realisation that despite all that she did, he waited for her. Viewers are wondering why has she not realised why he waited for her. However, is that the thought uppermost in Sumo's mind? No.. Why ? As she is consumed by the thought that he waited for her, for that girl that Red described so beautifully in this post as someone who lost her chance at fate by her actions of carelessness and selfishness. Her remorse (lets call it that for want of a better word) is for the chance she had lost in the past and had gained back. Is this chance ephemeral? Will it last? At the moment, Shravan's reasons for waiting for her has not consumed her mind...she has no idea of the power she has on him...(it would be a travesty if that became known...a viewer will be left wondering if she did love him for himself!!) She is merely focused on weighing her self-worth at this point.
Now I will draw your attention to a line in an older promo which had Sumo holding her parent's (or mom's) photo and wondering if people she loved would go away from her. This was during the Shrav leaving for London promo and I did wonder that promo did not play out in the narrative. However, these are important pointers to the need of what you called assurance.
Which is why to me these two are in some both broken individuals.
I had written a rambling thought about Sumo vs Suman which I will reproduce below..
Shravan loves the Sumo...thats all he has known...his glimpses of Suman as a teenager are limited to perhaps the doctor visit and fairs, where her Sumo avatar was always ready to bare her fangs.. he has had a closer glimpse of Suman from the time of his return and he has realised there in lies some vulnerability (not necessarily linked to him tho). The Khosla incident for one. The Daal incident is another one where Suman was in action but Shravan was so consumed by his own demons that it was perhaps not evident to him that Suman was in appearance in relation to him. Suman reaching out as opposed to being reached out to. In all interactions of where Suman have been witnessed by Shravan, he has usually taken over charge of the situation. There is that balance in the tenuous relationship that somewhere comes to the fore...When Sumo becomes Suman...Shravan has goaded her to fight. It is also perhaps a path of realisation for Shrav that Sumo is also broken like him and in relation to him. Shrav has always wanted to see Sumo in action, in fact admired her and loved her for it. While he fears his reaction to the Sumo , seeing the Suman in Sumo worries him. He has never wanted Suman to make an appearance "Mujhe nahin laga tha ki tum itni darpok ho" All I can say is I am fascinated by all this interplay...there is going to be dhamaka but have faith in the writers...They will give both the characters voice
