^^ Nowadays I take "scientific" research with a pinch of salt. "Mythical" Saraswati and Indus rivers are rainfed rivers according to these people, that weakening monsoon would have an effect?
Good Lord. Water has started spouting under the Thar desert in Jaisalmer areas.

Constant weakning monsoon did have affect.
But according to them it's the change in subsistence strategies to counter it eventually lead to collapse.
One which india would face soon with increase in drought and ground water level going way below extreme danger levels

Ancient civilizations were all based on banks of rivers. The Indus river still exists, rising in the Himalayan glaciers. Where is the water under the Thar desert coming from? Very likely it's the Saraswati river.
SO it's not a mythical river after all. The Rigveda doesn't talk about the Ganges at all. Only about Saraswati.

How would weakening monsoons change glaciers? An earthquake can trigger though. The Himalayas were also created when tectonic plates moved and are still growing.

Wow .. it'd be nice to see a film made on such an interesting subject of such an ancient civilization. Hope they've done their research and built the sets accordingly.
