Hey!

Just thought we would start a healthy debate about plastic surgery among celebs and as an effect, among ordinary folk.

Are you of the opinion that cosmetic enhancements are harmless and should not be judged or do you judge celebs for getting them?

Do you think plastic surgery represents the immense pressure on them to look perfect and should be frowned upon or should it be left to the individual?

To extend this, what about other cosmetic treatments like skin lightening etc?

Also, I've noticed that people are nasty about those who get plastic surgery in the sense that they are ridiculed for not being 'natural beauties'. Is it that important to be naturally beautiful? If it's beauty we're after, how does it matter if it's surgeons or genes at work?

Discuss.

I have a problem with people doing cosmetic surgeries just to enhance their looks. If it is done for burn or acid victims it totally makes sense. But why ruin something perfect given by God and inject your body with harmful chemicals that even strip your face from smiling? That's like playing with nature. Eat better, work out, and age gracefully.

@bold- People get cosmetic surgery 'cause they don't think they're perfect, right? In fact, they have huge issues with the way they look.

Maybe if there was less pressure on people to look airbrushed all the time, they wouldn't get it done. It's all about what's 'in' ultimately. Nowadays, models with gap tooths are considered 'unique'.

If looking like you do naturally was appreciated, then the need for these surgeries would go down.

This forum is a perfect example as to why women tend to opt for PS!
People would rip apart overweight, naturally aging women and at the same time would diss actresses for opting for PS. Sounds hypocritical to me.
Personally I don't have issues with anyone trying PS coz at the end of the it's their choice, their body. But I would never opt for one if had the money.

i think it is cool as long as under limits
shruti hasan looks much better now than she did in luck..so that was good and healthy imo

but the likes of keona mitra who have had several repeated surgeries on their face is just an unhealthy obsession making you look totally plastic

This like other subjects have many situations.

I have no problem if someone gets surgery on their body. Its their choice.

If someone forces another person to get surgery than that is an issue because it ain't their body.

Also another issue with surgery like any physical transformation.

You have to do it for yourself and not pleasing others or society.

If you are seeking validation and appreciation and after the surgery you do not get it.

That's when problems begin

Who are we to judge? People are free to do what they want, especially when it's being taken care of by an expert. If it gives them more confidence then I say go for it!

I am not one of those who believe what god gave us is perfect. No it's not, else everybody would have been beautiful, but they're not. No harm trying to look more attractive.
