Is Bhansali considering Priyanka now instead of Deepika in Padmavati?

Buzz is, PeeCee has emerged as a contender for the role in the historical

Deepika Padukone had almost been finalised for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next which is based on Padmavati (Buzz: Deepika to star in Bhansali's next, Apr 5). The film revolves around Alauddin Khilji who was so besotted by Padmavati that he laid siege to Chittor fort, demanding that King Ratan Singh give up his wife.

Coming back to the casting. One cannot ignore the recent strong buzz around that Priyanka Chopra is a strong contender to play the Queen of Mewar.

Deepika is considered the maverick filmmaker's current muse - the two have had two successful outings in Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani. As for Priyanka, she had a cameo in Ram-Leela and won accolades for her Kashibai act in the 2015 period drama.

Let's wait for the official announcement.

I actually first thought when the news came out that it must be PC too- cause apparently she was in talks with SLB! And she was supposed to announce her new movie this next week, and Padmavati was supposed to announce the casting in the next week too!!

There is just one problem though in the above theory- PC has no time!! 😆 She has just 1 1/2 month- and SLB movies can never be made in 1 month, 1 year bhi kam padta hai SLB ko!! 😆 it'll never work out even if they decided to work together!

I would LOVE to see Ranveer- PC work together though! They are FIRE together, feed off each other energies so well- that DIYA scene is going to remain one of my favourites ever because of them! ❤️

PC sucks, Deepika stills better. Why not cast fresh face like kriti or shraddha.

Pc filming quantico takes up most of her time, plus she is gonna start promoting Baywatch Aswell, I don't know if she will be able to it, as slb films r very demanding

if it's true then good. no offense but really getting bored with same ranveer-deepika jodi again and again, and honestly speaking pc-ranveer jodi has superb chemistry, my fav from current. so will love to see them in another movie

Slb, please sign PC-rs since they have BM buzz around. Why can't Dp sign siram n shootji next. I really hope PC gets finalized for this. I just wish
