hi Mishfan... well done for this pertinent post.. you point out well the two known character types covered in fiction...Fiction as in all art is supposed to be an imitation of life. Within chracterisations there are those characters too that fall inbetween of the two prototypes and are thus classified as grey characters.Personally , I prefer grey shades in characterisations as to me they seems more realistic as opposed to the straight jacket good or bad roles.
Now with regards to the positive characters in Ishq being given less coverage and hype than the negative ones.. that's correct as its the demand of the entertaiment world.. the audience is trained to watch , negativity ,conspiracy, suspence, heartbreak and disappointments.. all these elements create frustrations and in turn forces us to stay tuned to the shows to learn about the final out come of disruption ,disputes and revenge..Although we expect a happy ending where rightiousness wins in the end. On a daily basis no story is credible if it is evil free.. for in the real world, good and evil reside side by side.. A idyllic, all good and perfect serial would be heaven .. and not really a mirror of our life that we can relate to.. this is true about life that not always justice happens.. the wicked prosper while the good suffer... if that happens ,like in Ishq.. our universal appeal, idenfitication, sympathy grows for the virtous characters of the serial..But its true the cvs do need to have a good balance between the positive and negative characters as glaring imbalance between the two can have an adverse effect on veiwership.. meanwhile lets continue to watch the show till the end to find out the outcome eventually.. as for your post mishfan excellent post.. hoping to some more discussion posts from you .. much love hammie
hi Hammie,
Thank you so much .
Appreciate you taking time to read thru' my post & for ur insightful comments.
Agree that any story has to have combination of black, white & grey characters.
But what I would love also is for the white to turn a little grey in order to outsmart the black.
White staying white till the end might not always work.
What I mean is for someone like Dhani, the pure white soul can bend rules a little bit & show her distaste towards those insulting her, or even Dadi with some support from Vip demand respect for herself. This is the kind of imbalance I want to be put to rest.
Well we can just dicuss here & hope for the best cor our show.
Thanks again for some thought provoking comments.
I too hope to make future posts, provided our show turns around & stays put for a few more months.
Will definitely watch till it's end.
