Happy Ranveer wins over the Melody Queen.

Lata Mangeshkar makes an exception for the actor, agrees to award him over Skype.

It has been four days since Ranveer Singh flew off to Paris for his upcoming romance, also featuring Vaani Kapoor. The 30-year-old actor shared a sunset picture of the Eiffel Tower and urged,"Don't lock love, set it free..." He will wrap up the three-month schedule in Paris and two other exotic French locations, returning to Mumbai only towards the end of July.

But on April 24 Ranveer will be conferred with the prestigious Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar Award. His mentor and Bajirao Mastani director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is also being honoured, will receive the award on the actor's behalf since he is away in the French capital. And while Lata Mangeshkar has always insisted on previous winners, like Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Rishi Kapoor and even tabla maestro Zakir Hussain being physically present at the event, she has agreed to Ranveer's digital presence. He will connect via Skype. "He is one of the youngest recipients of the prestigious award named after our father. He is a great actor who seems like a super positive human being. He spreads happiness wherever he goes," the Melody Queen asserted.

On April 1, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had honoured the actor with the 'Maharashtrian of the Year' title, a follow-up to the thumbs-ups he got everywhere to his superlative performance as Peshwa Bajirao. Mumbai loves this hero!
