So after countless articles and rumors about the leap, today a few concrete things were established. However, we do not have the answers to all the questions.
Fates of characters like Mihir, Mihika, Romi, Sarika, Ashok etc are still pending, even Shagun - her exact marital status.
However, we do have answers for some of the queries - like what exactly transpired between the Iyers and Bhallas and what precisely was the Romi Mihika episode.
Today however was the stepping stone in terms of the episodes as far as the leap is concerned.
After a lot of speculation we know two very important things - Raman hasn't repeated history with Pihu - rather he dotes on her and adores her completely. She's the salvation of his life, his reason to live as Amma correctly put it earlier - he has got Ruhi and a part of Ishita in her to keep him sane and alive and breathing. She is the medium via whom he can right the wrongs he did with Ruhi as a kid and also, by loving her so very much he tries to be the father he knows Ruhi should have always had, the father he should have been for Ruhi, but couldn't be. She' s his chance to forgive himself for what he considers as his failure as a father for Ruhi, since he couldn't protect his child.
Pihu is also part Ishita - the child that he wanted to have with the woman who is the love of his life.
She is the only thing he has of Ishita.
However, the more important part of the episode, the foundation of this reboot is again Ruhi, as was the indication of the promo.
Ruhi as Ruhaan is shown as a rockstar, a popular face, a sensation - but we all knew that, what we didn't know was what would be her state of mind, which to an extent was shown today.
Ruhi has been abused; tortured by that vile woman to become a money-minting machine for her who has kept her completely in her clutches. Ruhi has perhaps been threatened with dire consequences to her family or her father in particular should she try to disobey or escape or even alert anyone of her situation as Ruhaan.
Ruhi unlike the various articles doing the rounds doesn't seem to be a vamp in the making.
Far from it, the child will be shown more in need of her parents and their love post being rescued than she ever was.
Ruhi even when ignored by Raman was loved by family that had grandparents, uncles and aunts who adored her and when she had Ishita in her life as a mother, she got her entire family - including her father to shower love upon her.
Now forced to don the garb of Ruhaan, abused for years she would need her parents and their love to heal her.
And this is where I see the return of Sirf Ruhi Ke Liye
The anger and heartbreak spread between two families wont however simply be done with in the blink of an eye but more importantly the anger, hurt and pain between her parents won't be forgiven and forgotten as easily too, even for Ruhi.
The hurdles of this time around won't be just misunderstandings and bitterness between two individuals who always caught each other on the wrong footing as it happened initially, only for things to clear when they come together for this child.
The hurdles will be of two individuals who have had a history here - with a lot of love and devotion towards each other but this time around caught in the web of anger, hurt and somewhat hate as well as guilt.
Raman is not gonna be pleased to know Ishita was alive and never came back, not even for Pihu, if not himself - and is gonna misunderstand her with Mani, as we all know.
Ishita likewise will be having misunderstandings where Raman and Shagun are concerned, from the looks of it as well as the baggage of being called a baanjh, a curse for her husband and children and the mother who lost her child. The guilt of which haunts her even now, as would the guilt of pushing Ishita into trying to kill herself has to haunt Raman.
However, along with their own issues as hurdles the challenges will lay in the two people who in these seven years have become the new constants of their lives - Mani and Shagun, from the looks of it.
I cannot predict if Mani becomes permanent or not as a character but Shaggy sure is not going anywhere.
Two individuals who perhaps might not in other circumstances iron out their differences will be teaming together for the love that is greater than their own issues - the love of the child who binds them, the child who brought them together and even ripped them apart will bring them together once again.
Even as the child who is part of them - their own flesh and blood might stand as a new challenge. As someone who has called another woman mama for all this time, as someone who might not be willing to share the love of her father with another - especially a sister, who in particular would take precedence once she returns and be the cynosure of everyone' eyes and who might be not particularly agreeable to accept her own mother - as she's basically a stranger to her.
While in the long run, it seems Raman will be the one to bridge the gap between the mother and daughter, as once Ishita did for him...the real challenge will lay in overcoming the hurt and anger that lies between this couple for the love of that child who binds their hearts and souls - as she would now need them more than ever.
