She looks like both Punjabi / Tamilian. But if you look closer, in her hair there are some bits of Jasmine flowers, so I think she will shown as a full Tamil girl.

I think she's Punjabi. The petals can be avoided and aise bhi, Iyer ladies put full size gajra not petals and name can be something like...Harleen! No, they won't go for a typical Punjabi name, so maybe something to Ruhi like...Huhi! No no, sounds Chinese. Idk. But she's Punjabi I guess.
