What is happening in this show? How regressive can it get? Kavya is wearing perfectly fine clothes. She is starting dance classes. I don't see any problem with that.
When the dance students came inside, the family was so rudely asking them kaun ho tum log..kaise andar aaye etc. Is that how you deal with guests? That's how well bred these people are? I can't believe how the makers are trying to show them right. If a boy and girl are dancing then they need to hear Sujata preach? She is such a loudmouth and it seems nobody has a problem with that. Kavya is also just a loud mouth and speaks without a filter. That is not a crime.
Another thing is I don't understand Swara. On one hand she never speaks to the family when they are speaking regressive things about Kavya's clothes and today about the dance classes. She didn't say even one word. As soon as Kavya started speaking to Ragini, suddenly she comes back to senses and starts with her drama. On the other hand, she starts shouting at Kavya and throwing things at her. Either she is submissive or she is not. Either she stands up for what is right or she doesn't. Either she is positive or she is not. It can't be both things. If she does understand what relationships mean then she should try to work on her relationship with Kavya too. I really don't think Kavya has got many chances as compared to Ragini. I remember in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Parvati, the main lead, tried everything possible to make Pallavi, the negative character, into the family. Although Pallavi did many wrong things and was filled with hate but Parvati atleast till a long time tried to reconcile her with the family and correct her. THAT I would say is what someone will do who wants to keep the family together. I don't agree or actually even understand the characterisation of Swara. Seems the writers don't give it much thought.
I don't expect this from Swara or even Sanskar for that matter. They are portrayed as being correct and positive, still they don't speak up against the wrong that their family does. How convenient to speak up against the wrongs of just Kavya. If Kavya is wrong to speak carelessly with the elders, then isn't Uttara wrong to speak carelessly with Kavya? Don't see Swara or anyone else EVER saying anything to her.
I think her pictures outside were possibly annoying and I understand the reaction to that, but not to anything else. And definitely not when Swara forgets to support Kavya against her family when they are wrong.
