Clearly, only the fans keep a tab on the award haul. Filmmakers could care less and he clearly said that it has no impact whatsoever on one's career. Kangy had mentioned the same thing earlier too, that her winning awards early in her career (incl. NA) did absolutely nothing from a career standpoint. After she won a NA for Fashion, Bhai even told her that her career was over as she would be considered a serious actor and not commercial. 😉

It seems like more and more actors/actresses are speaking their mind regarding Bollywood awards. Maybe in a few years things will start making a turn around. Bollywood awards really don't seem to have the respect that maybe they did a decade or so ago.

He is right about Academy Awards and Golden Globes. However there are exceptions there too lol. Cuba Gooding Jr., Mira Sorvino, Helen Hunt are examples of how their careers went no where post Oscar. Though one could argue that they never deserved their awards 😆.

Well, sometimes luck comes to play too and future choices.

Anyway sometimes I wonder, we tend to criticize AA/GG for not making a certain person win ... Then again we forget there's only one Award and so many great performances every year ... While in BW it's the opposite. So many Awards and few deserving candidates. 😆

Agree with him.

Indian awards are so shit. Like I don't even remember which one I watched last. May be 2005-2006. Since then, I don't even seat to catch 10 minutes. Not even in passing. They are so Ekta Kapoor soapish style. Too much melodrama. 🥱
