22 million people living in Syria before the war, twelve million are now homeless...as per News Egypt, with a population of 90 million, has taken 130,000 refugees while, in contrast, Turkey, population 78 million, has taken almost half of all fleeing Syrians.

why are the refugees not being sent to Saudi Arabia which has the space and the wealth to deal with this?😕

Well Panthera, firstly I would like to concede to your long arguments. I read them to my level best and I can see you cited many ancient stories. Are you sure the kings of ancient India were all saints and nobody had any war or showed brutality? Those were brutal times you know ... I can't even say anything good for Europeans, Russians, Ukrainians, or any other nation during those times. Perhaps you have good records of India. As I already conceded, you will not have to work harder to prove that early Indian kings had their hands with flowers only, and no blood.

Now coming to modern times, are you sure you have considered every political scenario as to why the refugee crisis reached European shores, and why Europeans and Americans should not be responsible for it? You mentioned other Islamic countries for this crisis, but I thought we were discussing a humanitarian crisis and not something wrapped in a religious sheet.

Do you know that Germany is a place where a refugee can work to earn a living? They get health insurance and can go to see a doctor? Does that happen in other Middle Eastern countries?

If the Middle Eastern countries display lack of humanity, does that justify our stances to replicate theirs?

Who imposed the war on Syria? Who funds the ISIS ... ?

These are some of the more rational questions that add weight to discussions as well.

My point being made, I do acknowledge that I have no idea about the historical pain and suffering you must have to bear every night when going to your bed. But it still is beyond me.

Actually, the point is the aversion which comes in people today has its roots in history passed over generations. The past is where it needs to be, true, we all should move on with our lives and get over it.

But there is a reason why people do not like each other, and its just not ignorance and intolerance. It's the reason why people are cruel to each other. People want power, they want control, they want to prove they are a superior race..

Any country with disturbed history never fully recovers. Look at Afghanistan,DPRK...

Who is responsible for what is happening there? If Iraq war did not happen, none of this will happen in the first place...
http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/oct/25/tony-blair-sorry-iraq-war-mistakes-admits-conflict-role-in-rise-of-isis

Countries like Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey all took millions of refugees .. Gambia - a poor Muslims country took in the most Rohingya refugees & so did Malaysia.. Yes they are countries like Saudi, Qatar, Bahrain & etc can do more about the refugee issue because there are some poor Syrian who is still stuck in Syria

Ironically, in an effort to eradicate worldwide terrorism, the US has given rise to more terror groups. USA's decision to topple Saddam Hussein's regime as part of their war on terror campaign gave rise to Al-Qaeda in Iraq which expanded over the years into ISIS. I guess it's fair to hold them responsible even though it wasn't deliberate.
However, it's atleast good to see that they are leading the coalition against ISIS. Ideally they should, as they possess unparalleled military might and they are mostly the reason for all of this. I'm sure that their intervention in this conflict is targeted mostly towards political gains ( battling Putin, influence in the middle east etc),but I'm confident that the US and it's allies would eventually be able to destabilize ISIS in the long run. There's no way ISIS can survive against these superpowers...they are already losing territory in Iraq.

Though I agree that it's very much within the financial capacity of the US to house a larger fraction of the refugees, Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf countries refusal to take in refugees is disgusting. Kudos to Europe, Jordan, Turkey etc on opening their doors for these refugees.

Anybody heard about the Malda violence in West Bengal which is a hub of many immigrants from Bangladesh and Germany on New years eve...Call me inhumane for all I care but immigrants should go to a country where their religion is hailed like no tomorrow...do not take undue advantage of entering another country and disrupting the harmony and peace there...sorry my heart goes out to many of the immigrants but at least don't misuse someones kindness for your own religious sake. Abide by the law, follow rules and regulations of the country you are heading to...you have no right to act too oversmart for your boots and derail a smoothly running nation.. there is a reason I want Modi to stay in power otherwise India and hindus will be in a deep mess...
