The helplessness that Viplav feels should not be there if a mother raises her son to be a good husband as well as a good son.
The self induced struggle of a mother that is constantly trying to hold on to the son is where a mother loses the respect of her son.
A mothers job is to raise their sons and daughters to be good people with values and principles and she can install that in her children only if she has high values and right principles to begin with.
Mothers job is NOT to create a Triangle between her son and his wife if the mother is secure in her rearing of her son and has taught him to be kind and fair and a good husband.
Here Kanak has no qualms in destroying her sons happiness for her stubborn and prejudicial dislike of Dhaani just because she is a widow.
There is no real reason for Kanak to hate Dhaani when she has not spent a moment trying to understand WHY her son loves her so much.
Kanak is so self involved and proud that she had a son but shows clear disdain for her daughter that she treats like garbage tells us that she thinks her son is her pride and possession that she will not hand over to some girl without a fight, especially if she is women in white... A widow.
IKRS has taken on a subject of Widowhood and how they are treated in India to show how wrong and unfair it is to treat women that through no fault of theirs have lost their husbands.
And the actors and the team of IKRS are doing an admirable job of portraying the dilemma widows face and how people with their prejudices make the widows feel like they are second class citizens.
Indeed Hats Off to the creators of this show choosing a subject that is not discussed too much in our society.
