Happy New Year!
Thanks to each and every one of you, for supporting this story inspite of being clueless about what it actually is. And knowing that it is a Random work, still willing to read it, that in itself conveys the acceptance. Though people are free enough to make a choice whether to continue or not throughout this story. It's upto you. Completely.
I have a lot to convey and something might just slip out of my mind, so let me ramble a bit.
Firstly, this being a random thought, people are free to come up with suggestions. I anyways, do love to hear what you all think might happen or can happen. The possibilities pointed out by a readers are far more intriguing than that of the actual narrator, personal experience.
Next thing being the schedule;
Monday, Wednesday and Friday!
I am taking an off for Saturdays and Sundays ;P apart from that it is pretty much alternative days updating schedule.
The chapters would be updated as per the schedule until and unless there's a change in the schedule - temporary or permanent. Any change in the schedule would be informed, beforehand.
That's pretty much it. Enjoy the read, if it is enjoyable that is.
Life itself is a journey; a collective journey of various journeys - some sweet, some bitter, some bring in mixed emotions. But that's what makes life a complete package.
Voyage is one such journey. A part of bigger journey, yet holds a lot to depict, if one looks for.
Chapter 1
"Nandini," he exhaled as relief washed over him. Embracing her into his arms, he let the anger drain out of his system that was directed to both Alya and Mukti. Only he knew what he had gone through in the past few hours when he was told that his best friend was nowhere to be found. His vulnerability reached a different height when all his attempts to contact her, failed. His life had almost toppled upside down with the mere information.
"Manik," she mumbled into his ears, while he kept his firm hold on her, scared that she might slip out of his grip and disappear. Unwilling to go through the helplessness that he had felt for hours that had seemed like eternity to him, he dropped his head into the crook of her neck and inhaled the freshness of the mild fragrance that it held.
She sighed under his hold and wrapped her arms around him. "Happy Birthday, Manik," she softly voiced, running her fingers through his unruly hairs.
Others followed her lead and squeaked into an ear deafening scream, "Happy Birthday, Manik."
All thoughts flushed out of his system as her words registered. Straightening himself, he leaned his head back, enough to pierce his questioning eyes at hers. Her arms slid across her shoulder, down to his arms as he moved. Though adorning a cheeky smile and gleaming eyes did nothing to falter his gaze rather he pinned her with hardened ones. However, he was nothing but melted.
"Where in the hell were you?" His eyes burned into her, though she remained unaffected. Instead, she had the audacity to roll her eyes at him, after making him run over the streets, searching for her at every place he knew, like crazy. "Don't you roll your eyes at me, Missy," he pointedly stated before repeating the question that was bugging him.
'Well," she drawled, fumbling with the fabric of his shirt sleeve, unknowingly. Half way through the interrogation and he knew it was planned to make him go brainless crazy in search of her so that they could plan his surprise birthday party. And all this while she was right there at his place, decorating it; and waiting for him.
By the end of it, she shrugged, rolling her lips out into a pout. A smile crept across his face as he looked at her. She was still embraced in his arms and her fingers had gone from fumbling to curling designs over his arms, mindlessly; to now stilled. It was her habit, to fumble with her fingers or anything that was under her hold, when she used to get nervous.
Mukti interrupted to answer the interrogating stare that Manik held, "You would have known if it was anything but this," that was true, he could actually have pin pointed any prank his friends would have played; anything but this.
"Anyways, you wouldn't have gone this insanely crazy for any of us, so she was the safest bet," she informed casually, unaware of the impact it made on him. He thought, whether he was really that partial? This was another thing to think about, after this incident.
Why was Nandini any different to him?
Why did he fear losing her?
Gross? Pretty much!
Random? Yes, very much!
Anyways, do let me know what you think about this piece. What are your views about Realization and Confession?
How according to you, does one realizes his feeling and contemplates the feeling of the other person you feel for?
Answer this and if you've got an idea about how, share it. Let's see if I can use it or merge it with this story. Because as I said this story is from a concept which is still raw, you might just help me with answering these questions.
All my other works on MaNan are linked on the first page, in the index post.
For PMs:
Last time, I had mentioned it while sending out PMs, that the comments help you to get the PMs not just adding me into your buddy list. There's a reason for this. I get to shorten my list to send PMs, that's not saving my time though. But I prefer this. Because:
1) I get to know who have read the updates. For the ones who didn't comment, I assume that they haven't read the update and are yet to read it.
If you are yet to read, the chapter, sending you the link to the next chapter is a waste and in fact acts as an added burden in your Inbox. Other thing, when you read the previous chapter, you get the link for the next chapter at the end of it. Saves time, yours as well as mine.
2) Or, they might not willing to continue to read the story any further, so to avoid inconvenience, I do not PM them.
There are exceptions, like the people who PM or scrap me about them being busy and unable to catch up with the updates and would soon read and review.
This wasn't for some long speech giving motive, but just for the reason that people have sent me buddy request but did not bother to comment. Now, how am I supposed to differentiate whom have I added recently and who are inactive since long?
Jeez! This whole rambling is longer than the update -_-
Anyways, Till then, toodles. ^_^
