Why Masala genre disliked so much on this forum?

Going by history of Indian Cinema, Sholay in India is what avatar is to world, biggest iconic film in every perimeter, a Masala genre. Held Records for 25 long years, ran housefull in cinema halls for years. If you look out for big hit hindi films list, majority of films you will found will be having masala genre. I have seen in this forum, you can't praise or even say you like some masala films released in recent years. Salman's Bajrangi is ok, Kick is crap, Srk's CDI is ok, Dilwale is crap, Akshay's Baby is ok, SIB is crap, Ajay's Drishyam is class, Action jackson is crap?

Dunno...you tell me...why didnt you like Dilwale?

Romance between Shah-Kajol, shah's character playing good citizen at start, it should have more of Kaali only, even kajol's role should have been that -ve side more. Action was fake.

My dislike is not coz any critic rejected this film, also i don't have problem if audience loving it, just that it wasn't what i expected.

The bold might be the reason for members disliking the genre/films too. Maybe the films do not deliver what they expect from a film.

How is it possible that all members only disliked those masala genre big 100+ cr hits, while critics fav. every film is liked. Latest example isTalvar.

Because a lot of ppl in Bollywood have no idea how to make a good masala film..Directors like Prabhu Deva think that adding 3 foot tapping songs, couple of fight scenes, 10 punch lines and 20 crass dialogues make for an entertaining masala film..Reason why a lot of these films are trashed..That said, i see no reason why the genre needs to be dissed..You need talent to pull off a commercial film..Its not as easy as its made out to be..Ppl mock Rajinikanth but he was kickass in commercial films..And he made illogical stuff look convincing..Till date, i don get why ppl assume its easy to pull off a masala film 😆
