Not masala genre in general, but bad movies are dissed. There are masala films that have universal appeal - Singham for example. They just have to be done right, but most masala films are a truckload of crap.

Masala films are not well made most of the time..
If they are good then why would anyone dislike them?
CE..gabbar..ghajni..dabang..robot are enjoyable masala films..but D3, Bang bang,diwale,most of the stuff Akki and Sallu does are non watchable for me
Its more to do with personal choice or sensibilities
But I dont like too much arty kinda film too even if my favourites are there like dhobi ghat

Even I found Kick crap...but its my opinion...I can't say it for the audience...on the other hand audience did not like Lootera...

according to them , only rikshawalas and uneducated people go watch "those masala movies" and make Salman's movies hit / BB ( count Ajay's and Akshya's too here ) . Otherwise no educated people think they are worth a watch.

Now Now Now , table has turned completely for them thanks to SRK's latest masala adventures and its just too much fun 🤪 😆

I don't know about Rikshawalas and all that . I'm a Porsche Wala and I like such films 😆 😆
