Can anyone have done Chaiyya Chaiyya better than SRK?

Okay, I don't mean to open another SRK topic here but I was watching Chaiyya Chaiyya after so long. ..and, while the song is awesome to listen to, it's also awesome to watch. Credit to Farah Khan (who I think choreographed it) but, SRK performed it extremely well.

While SRK may not be a Hrithik or Shahid, but I don't think any other actor could have pulled this song off as easily and effortlessly as SRK. His expressions are on point as well as his moves. The energy he had here was amazing. I don't think anyone could've done it as well as him. Arguably one of the best choreographed songs from the 90s or even 00s?..and perhaps SRK's best. I definitely feel this is one of those songs that no one but SRK could've done as well as he did even if there are generally better dancers in bollywood...since it's an iconic song, the performance mattered.

Does anyone feel the same or differently?

I agree...SRK did that song with so much energy...Malaika rocked with her sexy moves...one of the most iconic songs ever...ironically from one of SRK's biggest flops. People would go to watch just this song and would miss it since it would come right at the beginning.

Malaika was great also. It's one of those rare songs where everyone and everything was perfect. The lyrics, music, singer, performers, background dancers, setting etc.

I think this is perhaps SRK's most energetic performance. Not just the energy..even his expressions are perfect. For a song that's shot on a train, it's all very commendable.

I don't understand why the film didn't do well? It's one of my favorite SRK films. 😆 I felt his performance was great. I loved his chemistry with Manisha and Manisha was awesome as well. Maybe it was ahead of its time? I don't know, but I liked it.

I cant say now why the film didnt do well..maybe it was ahead of its time. I was really young when I watched it and only remember the songs...especially being scandalized by the Tu Hi Tu song where SRK and Manisha are in one sack kind of thing?😆

LOL yeah, that was some very weird choreography...but that song is so good! The music of this film is timeless. I still hear it every now and then and it never gets old.

I watched the film when I was younger then watched it twice or so again in recent times. I do think it was somewhat ahead of its time.

Yes, Chhaiya Chhaiyya was THE iconic song and dance! SRK and Malaika rocked it on top of the moving train! Preity was cute and bubbly in her debut film, Manisha-SRK were intense!
The film was ahead of its time! Nowadays with content suddenly being appreciated by Indian audiences, Dil Se would have been a hit too if it had been released now.

I agree. They made dancing on a moving train look all too easy.

You can tell the efforts put into making the song. Nowadays, you mostly have crappy, unforgettable lyrics where you feel the lyricist put zero effort whatsoever in creating the song..but with Chaiyya Chaiyya, it's all legit poetry. Everything leaves a mark. I like the rawness to the song. The sloppy, choppy hair of SRK...the background, the wardrobe..everything fits perfectly.

I think SRK did it best and no one like him but I did like the collab between Ranveer and him in this video.
