The February 20 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown lit up the Amerant Bank Arena in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with high stakes and higher emotions. With two Elimination Chamber qualifiers on the line and major stars colliding, the road to the premium live event intensified in dramatic fashion.

From surprise interruptions to chaotic finishes, the night delivered twists that could reshape the title picture. Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton and several others found themselves at the center of a storm that kept the Florida crowd roaring.

Cody Rhodes Interrupted as Drew McIntyre Looms

The show kicked off with Cody Rhodes addressing the audience. Before he could settle into his message, Jacob Fatu stormed in, clearly furious about losing his opportunity to enter the Elimination Chamber the previous week.

As tensions escalated, Drew McIntyre appeared in a private suite overlooking the arena, adding another layer to the chaos. Security rushed in to restrain Fatu while Rhodes and McIntyre exchanged sharp words from a distance. The confrontation set an intense tone for the rest of the night.

Ilja Dragunov vs Tama Tonga Turns Chaotic

Ilja Dragunov faced Tama Tonga in a gripping singles bout that showcased both men’s aggression and resilience. The action stayed competitive until outside interference shifted the momentum.

Tonga’s allies and his brother Tonga Loa created distractions that broke Dragunov’s rhythm. Seizing the opportunity, Tonga delivered his Cut Throat finisher to secure the victory. The result underlined the growing influence of his faction and left Dragunov visibly frustrated.

Women’s Elimination Chamber Spot Sealed in Stunning Fashion

The women’s triple threat qualifying match brought together Nia Jax, Kiana James and Charlotte Flair. All three competitors fought with urgency, knowing a Chamber berth was at stake.

Flair seemed poised for victory when she locked Jax in the Figure 8. Just as it appeared the submission would end the match, James capitalized on the moment. She rolled up Flair for the pin, stealing the win and punching her ticket to the Elimination Chamber. The upset left fans stunned and Flair furious.

Trick Williams Earns His Place in the Men’s Chamber

The men’s triple threat qualifier featured Trick Williams, Carmelo Hayes and Damian Priest. Former NXT standouts collided with Priest in a high speed contest that rarely slowed down.

Each competitor found moments to shine, but Williams ultimately seized control. He delivered two decisive Trick Shots to Priest and secured the pinfall, earning his spot inside the Men’s Elimination Chamber. The win marks a significant step in Williams’ rise on the main roster.

Main Event Chaos as Orton Falls to Black

The headline match saw Randy Orton square off against Aleister Black in a brutal encounter that spilled to ringside. The physicality intensified as both veterans traded heavy blows across the arena floor.

Orton appeared to be closing in on victory after planting Black with a DDT on the announcer’s desk. However, McIntyre struck again, attacking Orton and throwing the bout into disarray. Rhodes chased McIntyre through the arena, leaving Orton vulnerable. Black capitalized with a devastating Black Mass to claim the win.

Elsewhere on the card, Oba Femi dismantled Kit Wilson in decisive fashion after Wilson attempted to stall with theatrics. Tiffany Stratton defeated Alba Fyre with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever in a competitive singles match. Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley battled Giulia until outside interference from Jax and Lash Legend forced a disqualification, prompting IYO Sky to even the odds.

With rivalries heating up and Elimination Chamber spots now partially filled, SmackDown delivered a night packed with consequences. The road ahead looks volatile, and if February 20 proved anything, it is that alliances are fragile and every opportunity comes at a cost.

So, as things stand, we have five spots booked each for the men's elimination chamber match and the women's elimination chamber match as the men's will see Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes vs Je'Von Evans vs LA Knight vs Trick Williams and one more competitor. While the women's elimination chamber match will see Tiffany Stratton vs Rhea Ripley vs Alexa Bliss vs Asuka vs Kiana James and one more competitor.
