A nice piece. Thanks for sharing it with us patrarekha. 😊 I just read the first page and the comments there and this is what i feel.Okay, it may seem a little of an insult to panchali but what i think is that the writer is trying to point out something else. I think he wants to show that even dharmaraj yudhishtir had some flaws and even he housed some feelings like jealousy and anxiety within. And all this maybe because he was in heaven but in his mortal form?
PS-Please no offense to anyone.

exactly what he wanted. his focus on Yudhisthir's weakness but as usual maximum readers got to see sonething else 😆

This is the first time I am reading this story & the first piece from the writer, although I have heard his name amongst the Bengali writers. Since my Bengali is not that strong I usually end up confusing the story. So Jhum thanks for the sharing the translated the version.

Coming to the story, although I am not fond of yudhistir's character but still I read and got very much intrigued when the astronaut told him about heaven and hell. Yudhistir was being tested in each and every stage in his journey towards the heaven. First with the dog and then in the gates of hell. And when he finally entered the heaven, he was tested for his insecurities bringing up the illusions he would otherwise have never imagined he wcould witness in heaven. It also brought questions to his mind, about his actions and reactions with his brothers & their common wife. He led a life on earth on the path of righteousness which made him the only mortal being to come to heaven without embracing the death. But does that mean he was devoid of the vices like jealosy, possessiveness and greed.

Even I felt that the story was ended abruptly. I would have like to know how Yudi overcome with his insecurities and the shatter the illusion b4 him showing him the picture of himself or the person inside him he has not known.

thanks for commenting Hema. i guess author's moto is to prove Yudhisthir was not that what he is believed to be in general. he had his weakness too. thats why he couldnt overcome seeing Draupadi with Karna and Duryodhan
and this abrupt ending i guess is failure to translate actual essence of the story. the Bengali didn't seem abrupt to anyone
