I do not know what is the need for comparing actresses of two different generations unless this is of course an effort to weigh the scales in Kajol's favour for yet another award 😆 But this year Deepika leaves her miles behind and no amount of manipulations can allow Kajol to overtake her...she may wrangle an award but for the viewers the year belongs to Deepu.

As much as I dislike Kajol offscreen, I'd have to say that she's the better actress. She LIGHTS up the screen. I mean, she's not even that good looking or anything, but the way she acts and emotes is fantastic. And her dialogue delivery is MILES better than Deepika. As for versatility, I think she needs to work with other actors besides the Khans more, but other than that, she's pretty versatile imo. She's played villains, tomboys, bubbly girls, a blind woman, lover, and a mother all with ease. Of course she could stand to experiment more, but I think she's still miles ahead of Deepika when it comes to emoting and delivering dialogues. When watching her films, it's like your watching the character, not Kajol. Whereas sometimes I get the opposite feeling with Deepika, especially in her earlier days -- it was like we were watching Deepika pretend to act.
