Hai welcome to forum...U brought up a nice topic for discussion...I bit agree& disagree with u!!!!!Yaa u may feel disconnected with Preet dialogues and her character or her way xpressing too be artificial but she has d feeling of homeland for sure and she is a true patriot!!!If u ask me I cant even answer what I am...I get instantly inspired by dialogues of Preet's kind and asusual will forget what I had thought of / learnt of...But I can say proudly that I am Indian with my head held high and I am a patriot...But the thing is dat aisa koi situation nahi aaya mera lyf mein ki mein apna Patriotism prove kare yaa dikhade!!!!But a feel of belongingness is always there for me for my country...And on d same side I respect others and I will even try to learn new things from other nationalities...Sometimes all these Patriotism, Love, marraige dialogues seems so filmy and we mi8 think it doesnt happen in real lyf!!!But although its filmy sometyms it appeals!!!The tym hat to be ri8 to get into correct emotion!!!May be u will get ur tym at some instant to know what u xactly feel for ur country!!!!I kniw I am a bit confused while writing...So pls xcuse me if u dont understand!!!!

Hey Amina-Zehra, amazing post. It is such a sensitive subject to talk about and here i am glad you all are handling it with so much maturity.

For me Patriotism is not to just completely love your country(blindly) but also to criticize it when You gets to know about it wrong doing. And yes if there is a time where i have to protect my nation by giving up my life, so yeah i am on it. I can do anything to safe my country and its people.

I am not here to justify Rizwan's pov, although we both belong to same part of the world. The thing is Rizwan loves his country and he doesn't want his people to witness all those terrible things that he had gone through. Basically he doesn't want that to happen with anyone living anywhere (that's why he sort of adopted kavya).

Rizwan is not a bad guy over here. He is completely brainwashed about our neighbors. I am not saying what happend during Indo-Pak partition is a myth. People actually died while traveling to respective sides of border and are still blaming each other for their loss(God knows what actually happened there). Rizwan's upbringing is at fault over here. He was told that everyone in neighborhood hate us and they are our enemies and we have to destroy them before they destroy us. So to safe his country he is doing all that. But again he doesnt want to hurt anyone. He is always seen asking if by doing this any human life would be in danger or not and yet again Atif and his clan lied to him.

And on another hand, there is Preet. Who is as patriotic as Rizwan is. According to me both of them have similar feelings about their countries. If Rizwan is brainwashed regarding his neighbors same is with Preet. What happened with her and her family made her hate her neighbors and which is completely justified. Just like Rizwan, she too can do anything to safe her country. So according to me both share same mindset and are completely doing a right thing.

Seems like this is going to be my longest post ever :p so i would just stop here. And if this post(by any means) is hurting anyone then I am sorry its just my pov which could be different than yours. :)

Hey! good topic..šŸ‘
Patriotism is a feeling of strong attachment towards one's own country. So if you'd ask me if I'm patriotic, I'd say I'm not as patriotic as Preet, I'm able to connect with the word patriotism & I'm able to feel what it is to be patriotic and I'm so proud of my nation. So to sum up, I'm mildly patriotic 😊
I feel everybody is attached to one's own country to some extent, just that it needs some push for them to express and/or admit it. It may be any personal incidents(as in the case of Preet) or any incident that affects the nation negatively like a disaster, calamity, crisis or anything else; or any positive incidents like the country doing well in sports, setting records internationally, or it brings a positive impact in the world or it achieves big globally and so many other things to add to the list.
Everybody needs some initial push to gain that momentum!😃
