What would you call this action of Dashratha?
The Bali of his daughter in his desire to have a son?

I would call this completely fake and false, as it NEVER HAPPENED!!!I hope the CVs are happy. They have now destroyed Maharaj Dashrath's character beyond redemption, showing him as a man who sacrificed his daughter to have a son. 😡Today's entire episode was a total joke. From the very beginning, the CVs glorified Maharaj Janak by degrading Maharaj Dashrath, and now they have gone an ultimate low by showing Dashrath as a daughter-hating man.Do the CVs know that when Ram got married to Sita, Dashrath shed tears of happiness and said to Kaushalya that God has filled the void of not having any daughters, by giving him four daughters-in-law?Yes, he wanted an heir for his dynasty, but he had no animosity towards female children.Shame on you CVs! You have destroyed Ramayan today.
It is different from the story of shanta as I have read online, and it puts Dashratha in a very negative light. Again I will raise the question, are the cvs completely going off track in their attempts to make this story appeal to today's generation?
Yes, It is indeed different from what I read on the net.
Why did they make Dasharath the villian ?Just to show Janak in good light and raise this question of Son vs Daughter ?The question that is raised is sure with a good motive.And Yes, it is a known fact that Dasharath was desperate for a son.But the story they have created is not in good taste.Is there any way, we can clarify this with the writers ?

Sorry, but I am not as optimistic as you. I don't care what motive the CVs have, but to degrade a great character in our holy puranas just to show the greatness of another King, and to raise the question of son vs. daughter is simply not acceptable. Show Ramayan as it is. Don't degrade any of its characters! Ramayan has plenty of good messages already without twisting its tale to add more.Dashrath wanted an heir, because back in those days a kingdom without an heir was in danger of being overtaken by enemy rulers. But nowhere does it say he was anti-daughters. To show this in our generation, where people are already so sensitive about this issue, is totally wrong and spreads the wrong message about Dashrath!
@RamkiJanaki,
I was only optimistic becoz, few days back, I saw on the forum, one of the member's twitter convo with the writer...wrt feedback on Jabali...and even the feedback from the designer.I have not seen any such situation till now, where the creative team seem open to suggestions or questions.So my query...o/wise, me too well aware of soap world...😉😆I generally do not watch any soaps, and consciously stay away from mythologies or historical becoz of these various distortions they tend to take...This show, I've started and continuing watching, becoz, I was impressed with the treatment till now.Not watching the show for any feeling of divinity , but just that I feel, I'am able to learn something from it..But Yes., this tweaking of a good man like Dasharath is sure to ruffle many feathers...and we who know , how to get info from internet and sorts, can question the genuinity...but what about the general audience who do not normally go into any research, and take the story at its face value ?This is definitely not appreciated of them, and if they are open to feedback, we must of course voice it.
Well it happened when ramanand sagar presented his Ramayana, it became the one everyone related to, though of course that one did not take too many liberties, these stories are not etched in stone and will be open to interpretation.
