Lovely Analysis Abhinaya...
You have a way with words. 😊 I will look forward to more such reviews from you.

I quite liked the comparison between Dashratha and Janaka.

Dashratha, for all that grand palace and flourishing kingdom, still feels like a poor man on the inside. He is least interested in his kingly duties.
He had a daughter Shanta once, whom he did not appreciate enough because she was a daughter and not a son, whom he let go off in order to fulfill his dream of having sons (He gave her away to King of Anga in a hope that King of Anga would then help him get sons).
He had sons and attained his dreams, only to be cursed by Shravan's parents that he will always be apart from his sons, that he will always yearn for them.

On the other hand, there is Janaka, a father at heart. Even though he does not have a biological child, he loves his subjects like his own. And he will love his daughter Janaki with all his heart, taking pride in her, who is allowed to sit with him in the king hall, listening to all philosophical, political and all kinds of thinkers and sages discuss.

This came out really well in yesterday's episode.

Thank you Kshithi, you have a lovely name 😳

Thank you for shedding light on Shanta's story once again. I wasn't aware of this. So why was he exactly cursed ? I think he kills off Shravan's child right ? So Shravan curses him.

This I know. Janaka loves Sita with all his heart and she is literally the apple of his eye. I'm really looking forward to all their interactions and how the makers plan to show it all.😊

Thanks. 😳

Shravan Kumar was a loving and dutiful son. His parents, when they got old and fragile, wanted to go visit holy places. Since they could not walk or travel themselves, Shravan took this task upon himself.

He took a long log of wood and attached two baskets on the either end of the log. He made his mother and father sit on each basket and he himself carried them using the log, on his shoulder. One day when they were in one of the forest and resting,King Dasharath happens to be there. He would have come for hunting and he mistakes Shravana for an animal and kills him. Seeing this, Shravan's parents are heartbroken and curses Dashratha, that just like them who are grieving for their only son, the king too will die with the grief of losing his son.
