the following paragraph in jahangirnama clearly indicates that mariam uz zamani is not his mother.jahangir's mother is someone else (not named) and lives in lahore, not in agra or delhi.

p 76 JAHANGIR WAITS UPON HIS MOTHER.

As when I started in pursuit of Khusrau I had left my sonKhurram in charge of the palaces and treasury, I now, when that affair had been settled, ordered the said son to attend uponHazrat Maryam-zamani and the other ladies, and to escort them to me. When they reached the neighbourhood of Lahore, on Friday the 12th of the month mentioned, I embarked in a boat and went to a village named Dahr to meet my mother, and I had the good fortune to be received by her. After the performance of obeisance and prostration and greeting which is due from the young to the old according to the custom of Chingiz, the rules ofTimur and common usage, and after worship of the King of the World (God), and after finishing this business, I obtained leave to return, and re-entered the fort of Lahore.

marium-uz zamani is a title not name, which given to the begum who giv heir to Akbar & the title given to Amer princess so oviously Amer princess ws the mothr pf Jahangir,, Consult history geek, he alrdy giv a grt account on Jahangir & marium-uz-zamani in his blog with all referance.

it seems u have not read the post properly.

the above paragraph whcih i posted is from jahangirnama which is written by jahangir himself.

this paragraph clearly indicates tht mariam uz zamani and jahangir's mother are two different person.

i have also given link. u can check in jahangirnama .

Mariam Uz Zamani and Jahangir's mother are the same.

You can read the Farman of Mariam Uz Zamani and the document presented by the Indian Historical Records Commission.

This paragraph no where proves Mariam Uz Zamani (MUZ) and Jahangir's mother to be different. In one paragraph he calls her "Hazrat" which is a honorific reference.

And in next line he simply calls her his mother.

There is no confusion at all.

It is accepted by historians that Jahangir's mother was Mariam-uz-Zamani and that she was the daughter of Raja Bharmal of Amer. Jahangir addressed his mother as Hazrat Mariam-uz-Zamani out of respect and devotion.

You will be able to see the manner in which Jahangir pays his respects to his mother. Yes, she was near Lahore at the time, which is not a surprise because she had a palace there too and Lahore was a part of the Mughal empire. She had even got a mosque built there.

The excerpt you posted in fact establishes without a doubt that MUZ is Jehangir's mother does it not? What part of it lead you to believe that she was not his mother? As said above, Hazrat MUZ is her honorific title. This exactly how he addresses Akbar too. We don't ever doubt Akbar to be his father so why MUZ?

who is this women whom jahangir goes to meet her near lahore, after his son escorts mariam uz zamni n other ladies to him??
