Some of the biggest hits of BW are these sickly sweet family love movies. There is nothing edgy or arty or unsafe about the genre.

True. This is a ridiculous excuse. Family entertainers with huge no of songs, expensive sets, colorful cloths are still the safest magnet to pull audiences during festive time. This kinda films even with cliched and wafer thin stories have always done well. HAHK, Vivah, Baghban, K3g are some of the egs. This is the safest genre in bollywood.
