SRK Launches Dilwale Trailer In Style
After the release of Chennai Express, Rohit Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan had announced that they would be working together on another film. That set the ball rolling, and the trade and movie-goers alike were abuzz with speculation on their next production. The cherry on the cake was the announcement that the movie would feature the all-time hit pair of SRK and Kajol.
So when the trailer of Dilwale was launched at a suburban multiplex in Mumbai on Monday night, anticipation was at fever pitch. And it wasn't just the trailer that wowed the media. With SRK as producer, expect the event to be grand. And it was. The entire star cast made an entry on the red carpet in cars. Present at the event were Kabir Bedi, Johnny Lever, Varun Sharma, Boman Irani, music composer Pritam, Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan, Kajol, Rohit Shetty and, of course Shah Rukh Khan. Here's what happened at the event:
Kabir Bedi on Dilwale
It's an immense pleasure to work with such a lovely star cast. Love Shah Rukh and it was a great experience.
Johnny Lever on Dilwale
Dilwale is one of the best films I have done to date. Although you see only a little of me in the trailer, there is a lot to watch out for.
Pritam on composing for SRK-Kajol
This is the first time I am working with Shah Rukh sir, and it was a pleasure to compose love songs that feature SRK-Kajol. I have worked with Rohit Shetty earlier and it is always fun to work with him.
Boman Irani on Dilwale
(Laughs) Post-Happy New Year, SRK said he wanted to work with me again and again. So he offered meDilwale. It was a great experience working with the entire team.
Kajol on Dilwale
I chose the film, first because of the script and then, of course, Shah Rukh was in it. Initially, I thought I would not take it up but there are some roles you just can't ignore.
Kriti Sanon on Dilwale
It's a dream team for me to work with Shah Rukh sir and Kajol ma'am. Varun and I had a great time working together. It was a learning experience.
Varun Dhawan on being overshadowed
I never once thought that my chemistry with Kriti would be overshadowed. Shah Rukh has been a big brother to me in the film as well as in real life. I have an elder brother in real life too, so I have never felt jealous. Your brother is your brother, you love him. And here, I knew Rohit sir would do justice to every character, not only to our chemistry but to the entire star cast.
SRK on Dilwale
It's a feeling of emptiness and I feel quite sad that today the film doesn't belongs to us any more. It's now all yours. I always say that till we are making a film, it belongs to us, but the day it is presented to the audience, it belongs to everyone. We worked very hard on the film and I hope audience likes it too.
SRK on raising the bar
As a part of Red Chillies, we have tried (to raise the bar) but that is a decision the creative team has to take. So that call was taken care by Rohit Shetty and his team. But, as producers, we have tried to raise the bar, in the way the film will look, in the locations we chose. We have tried to take it to another level.
Kajol on best memory
There is one romantic number that we shot in Iceland. We shot the song for seven days in chilly weather... you can see the water is blue, even we turned blue shooting for that song! But when you watch it on the big screen, you know it's worth it.
Kajol on her kids loving Rohit Shetty Films
I initially thought I would not do the film because it demanded a schedule abroad. But my daughter Nysa said, Mom, you should do this film, I don't want to see you crying any more. For once, do a comedy where I can see you laughing throughout.' So it was Nysa who convinced me.
