Bajrangi Bhaijaan: Biggest television event of 2015, beats cricket matches

Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan has emerged as the biggest television event of 2015. The Kabir Khan directed film, which premiered on 11th October, has gone on to beat the viewership of all live sporting events (including IPL and other cricket matches), fiction / non-fiction television shows and all other televised events this year.

Talking to Bombay Times, Salman thanked the audience for their love towards the film

"On behalf of the cast and crew of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, I thank viewers for the love that they have given this film by first watching it in large numbers in theatres and now, in their homes. " Salman said.

Hemal Jhaveri of Star India, was overwhelmed by the response to the film

"We are overwhelmed with the response. We knew that an iconic film like Bajrangi Bhaijaan will surely deliver exceptional viewership but these numbers are truly beyond our expectations. This movie is a reinforcement of our promise of being the only true home of blockbusters and a validation that our strategy is aligned with the viewers' demands"

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is also the most watched Hindi film on television in the last few years, beating the previous record of 3 Idiots.
