I watched both the trailer and the song teaser and this is what I think:
Re: Trailer -- Deepika has done some excellent acting in the scenes that are shown. You can see various emotions on her face depending on the scene, that some previous IFer mentioned before. She, at least to me, didn't flat line.
Re: Song trailer - This one is a toughy. Without knowing the context the song is placed, it's impossible to make a clear judgment.
Here are some of the things I've noted:
* Reading up on Mastani on Wikipedia suggests that there are a few origin theories regarding her, one of which suggests that she might have been a court-dancer whom Bajirao fell in love with.
* The song is slow placed, emotional, and romantic. For some reason it reminded me of a song from Vivah (I'm thinking something of a fusion between Milan Abhi Aadha Aadhura Hai and Mujhe Haq Hai). My point is - the song is supposed to invoke subtlety. Let's assume that theory 3 (the one I posted above) of Mastani origin is true. Bajirao is happily married to Kasturi, and then he sees Mastani dancing. Their hearts skip a beat. She glances at him slightly, he stares at her in awe and curiosity. She teases him with her eyes, but remembers that she is dancing in front of the court so she keeps her emotions under control.
* That all being said, there are some parts where I do feel that Deepika's expression does sink. But that's countered by the times her subtle expressions properly engage the audience. The teaser doesn't give us a close up of Deepika the entire time, so we need to take that into account and omit that.

Good expressions:
0:24 - I think this is by far my most favorite expression --

1:14 - this is a great example of subtle expression while dancing. --
1:19 -

What-I-feel-is-blank expressions:
0:12 --

0:56 --

Others (expressions I can't figure out, definitely not blank but something else):
0:40 - I think it goes with the good expression category, but for some reason, I think it's out of place and it lacks someting. You may not think so, this is just my opinion.

2:34 -

= this one feels a bit blank to me, but the more I stare at it, the more I feel like she is trying to express hurt-love (like she loves him, but knows she can't have him)
I don't think Deepika maintained that subtle eye expression throughout the song (it's difficult, so I don't blame her), but I think she has done a splendid job based on the tone and mood the song presents. Should we base a trailer and a song and assume her overall performance - I think not. But I don't find it wrong to post out own opinions.
Since someone mentioned PC's expressions earlier - I think her expressions were spot on, assuming that Mastani is a court dancer in this song and not Bajirao's wife.
And just to avoid some future confusion - I'm not a Deepika fan, but I think she is still one of the best actors (including guys and girls) in the industry. So I'm coming from a neutral POV.
