Bollywood princess Navya Naveli Nanda to debut at Parisian ball

Coming from the first family of Bollywood, she is an heiress in her own right and now she's making sure that the world sits up and takes note of her. Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of actor Amitabh Bachchan and daughter of Shweta Bachchan Nanda and industrialist Nikhil Nanda, will be attending the prestigious Bal des Dbutantes or Le Bal in Paris next month.

Described by Forbes as one of the world's 10 hottest parties, the ball features girls aged between 16 and 22 years, who belong to prestigious or aristocratic families from around the globe. The girls turn up in customised couture ensembles and take on the dance floor with their fathers and do a waltz.

17-year-old Navya will be among 25 other debutants who'll make their foray into the limelight, following in the footsteps of past debutantes like Hollywood actor Bruce Willis' daughter, Tallulah Willis and Sylvester Stallone's daughter Sophia Rose. From India, Princess Adishree Singh, from the royal family of Jammu & Kashmir, made her debut back in 2009. Other famous Indian debutantes include Leana Mallya (daughter of Vijay Mallya in 2011) and Mukesh Ambani's daughter Isha Ambani in 2012.

Navya, who currently studies in London, was photographed last month doing her fittings at the Christian Dior headquarters in Paris, accompanied by her mother. "I'm going to be taking some dance lessons, so that my dancing is up to the mark. Also, I will be going to the fittings to make sure that my dresses are fine. I'll also be practising walking in heels, because that's unusual for me. I shall be walking around my bedroom in heels, trying to make sure I don't fall over," Navya was seen as saying in a preview video.

17-year-old Navya, who is also the great grand daughter of Raj Kapoor, has films in her lineage. But the young girl has till now been kept away from the limelight.

Navya, who is currently in studying London, has already started preparing for the ball which, according to Forbes, is one of the hottest parties in world.

Created by Ophlie Renouard in 1992, the ball marks cosmopolitan girls' entry into the worlds of couture and media, which they often are gaining access to for the first time. It is held each year on Thanksgiving weekend in Paris.

Preparing for her grand debut Navya said, "I'm going to be taking some dance lessons, so that my dancing is up to the mark, and also I will be going to the fittings to make sure that my dresses are fine, and also practicing walking in heels, because that's unusual for me. I shall be walking around my bedroom in heels and trying to make sure that I don't fell over."

A Parisian make up artist is also working with her and her mother Shweta Nanda closely to make her look absolutely perfect on the big day.

When asked if Amitabh will attend the ball, daughter Shweta said, "He's so busy. He's doing so many things, but they are the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, so we hope he'll be able to make it and to see her in this way. It's a first for all of us and we're all very excited."

Busy or not, this sight will be something Amitabh Bachchan and the rest of this family will not want to miss.

Debutante ball?? Christian Dior gown? Princess? The Bachans are such wannabes. I see a pimpled, ordinary looking 17 year old who will be shamelessly paraded for suitors. 🤢
