If this ball is only for exposing these women to the world culture or just another party to have fun, then it's great.
But if it indeed is the place where rich suitors come looking for their rich princesses, then shame on these parents for parading their daughters.
These girls have had such privileged education and can continue doing so and their parents can be perfect mentors to guide them into a successful life and career. These princesses shouldn't just be parading themselves for rich suitors.

hey look ...people being against something superficial but pointing towards something more superficial.
It is just a event...Let them go their whatever things...I am sure these girl have much more freedom in choice and dignity and not stripped of their personalities like the sanskari girl in middle class home.

so...

Meanwhile in Syria,
a 17 yr oldYazidi girl is fighting with a gun to keep herself and her family alive.

Or somewhere in India,
a girl is walking miles trying to reach the nearest school, with dangers like poverty, possibility of no more education and rape lurking every moment on her head.

And instead of working on those issues...you are commenting on a girl going to a party with her family money. what does that say about you?

Girl going to party is leading her life..

Girl going to the school walking is leading her life...

and you?

I am sorry but the India I come from is rich n prosperous and offers free education and I can go out at night without any fears of getting raped...

I guess you come from the part of India we often like to see in Hollywood movies?

Comparing Syria and India?

How stupid!

The comparison between Syria and India is pretty stupid.

" rich n prosperous and offers free education and I can go out at night without any fears of getting raped"

Maybe applicable to some parts of the country but definitely isn't true for all of India. Country could be 'rich and prosperous' but the poverty along with clean water and other facilities are still very much a problem so I am not sure why the denial there.
