This is actually a very refreshing thought! And yeah when ppl these days jokingly say, "must be a childhood problem" what they don't actually realize is that it actually might be true!

A both physically and mentally healthy childhood is what makes a person a balanced adult... even if one is slightly compromised... adulthood will be a disaster.

Well in short a great post! 👍🏼

Hahaha thanks a lot buddy 😳😆 Just wanted to delve into Ragini's psyche & am glad I didn't disappoint Freud & you 😳

Exactly! I'll be honest, even I make fun of Ragini's behavior & desperation but it's really all in fun & jest. I'll be doing it again when the seq is aired but I absolutely do understand what must go through her psyche & tbh, I DO feel pity for her, sometimes. I wish everyone could just have a normal childhood, it would definitely save a lot of adults It's also about how you "deal" with those issues if you have them. There are lot of people who have had disturbed childhood & still have turned about to be great individuals with good support & education. Ragini's education also comes into picture here. I am sure if she was allowed to study further & not just be married off, she could have grown into a healthy individual, both physically & mentally but even that chance was snatched off from her.

I SO agree with everything & especially with the "mother" point. She did not have a mother who could talk to her about this stuff. You obviously cannot be THAT free with your grandmom, especially one who has been so restrictive towards you befriending even girls belonging to other castes, forget about boys! Also Parvati was blessed with a boy so even she never had the experience of raising a girl till Rags came along. Even her entertainment sessions were probably restricted to daily soaps & Aastha channel with no free will to watch immoral stuff. Ragini is a good case study, I wish we could see these points in the show, kuch toh sympathy hoti usse 😆

Yes, her fantasies are a monster, a hungry monster, waiting to be unleashed when Lakshya finally gives her a chance to 😆

Edit: About the fairytale bit, absolutely. She probably thinks of herself as Prince Charming, Lakshya as Sleeping Beauty & Swara as the Witch so she'd go to lenghts to "protect" her love & get her happy ending. Aiyyyooo

yes well, speaking as a girl who studied in a missionary school myself, an only child...and parents expecting me to fetch high marks and dance as an extracurricular activity and treated like a daddy's little girl...it would have shocked them no end that their princess was thinking about all this. 😆uptil about class eight i slept with my mom...and never had a lot of friends either. those which i had...were in the same boat as me. i think i remember reading in an adult magazine of my mom...about couple sex and stuff when i was about fourteen...and thought of sex as something about couples lying there clicked like jigsaw pieces until they fell asleep😆 class 10 biology was rather shocking.

and then for my plus two i went to a co-ed...and i just saw that well boys are boys...and they don't do stuff like girls do. if they jeer..they shout about it. if they laugh, they wont titter. i swear its uncomfortable to suddenly be plonked in there and have no idea what to make of it all. they were like aliens from a different planet. but gradually of course..u get used to them.😊

but then i did see stuff about all this in movies and all and of course romantic novels...after i got a separate room when we moved.😳 that balances you out...because you need to know about all this. its not a crime to know about the most natural thing ever.

so yeah..i guess i get where she comes from. she thinks he is destined for her and no one else. and when she dreamt about him...probably her body sent her signals which she never really fathomed. 😲

Wonderful post and I completely agree!

That's why despite my initial repulse at seeing Ragini's fantasy, they are also quite fascinating to me! And idk if it was the CVs plan the entire time to show how repressing people can turn them crazy, but they;re definitely doing a great job with Ragini! As much as I hate her, I cannot deny that she's a really interesting character!

Jumping into this discussion (sorry for intruding!), but completely agree with you guys! Wow, I would've never even made the connection of Ragini and fairytales! 👏 That's really great and believable and also contextualizes a lot of her behaviour and refusal to see her bad deeds as bad. She's the heroine in her story and she's willing to go through all sorts of lengths just to end the story happily!

Her childish mindset is explained so well by you guys! Kudos! It's stuff like this that keeps me from completely leaving this forum! 👏

I loved how the TM explained Ragini's situation , in reality these do happen .But i doubt the writers thought so much before making her evil.At the end of the RS production house.
