Rules...Newbies... suggestion

Hey everyone

this is the first time im posting in this section...i had discussed this matter with co viewbies and moderators in the VS too and many agreed...

IF is expanding each day and a lot of members who newly join are unaware of the rules, and also some choose to ignore the rules or just dont bother reading them...so i was thinking maybe if every time a member joins IF a PM should automatically be sent to them with some of the basic rules...im sure they will read it if its in their inbox...

You know like when we sign up on a site, e.g. Youtube you get automatic emails confirming ur account as soon as u sign up, maybe if we have something like that on IF as a PM of rules to evry newbie then mayb there will be less spamming from them...

We usually get newbies making topics in forum asking for updates etc and after closing those topics a PM is sent to them making them aware why there topic was closed and requesting them not to do so in the future, and the main reply i get is an apology and the fact that they were unaware of such rules... i dont think the newbies really read through the rules... maybe this automatic PM can solve some problems.

Yuvi, great idea! yeah, many newbies doesn't know about IF rules, and they post things which are against the IF law... if this PM are sent to new members, then i think we can reduce so many unwanted posts, i.e. spam, advertising ect.

Well it looks like we truly have evolved as an online nation which has its own law and order system 😊.

Back to the subject..

Well its a good idea and will appreciate if someone can prepare a basic Guidelines for the New members along with the important links then I will program the system to auto send the PM as soon as the member joins India Forums.

thanks for liking the idea... i think its best if one of the GM's or urself or sree make the guidelines and rules, as u knw best... i think definitely the basic rules like advertising, spamming, asking for video and written updates, using CAPS LOCK, posting personal phone numbers of actors/actresses etc, and also posting videos from other sites could be some to include...
