Richard Armitage- List of work.
This is just the order I like the stuff and may be we can re-list it later. Its meant only as a suggestion in which order to go about.
1. North and South(BBC Series)
No doubt this has to be on number 1, Mr. Thorton is what launched RA to success and made us fall for him. He plays a textile mill owner Mr. John Thornton opposite Daniela Denby Ashe's Margaret Hale. What more to say, it made the BBC message board crash when it was telecast in 2004. His brooding good looks, the deep baritone and wonderful chemistry made it a runaway success.
2. Robinhood(BBC Series)-
Wouldnt say it is brilliant but I give it the second position because-
a. RA in black leather almost all the episodes, the perfect eye candy
b. A negative role that actually made me feel bad for the bad guy and wonder why the good guy existed
c. The relation between Guy and Marian, his one sided love for her.
Although IMO the first reason should be good enough. Surprisingly there are YT links for almost all episodes.
3. Strike Back Season 1(Sky1)
Its also known as Chris Ryan's Strike Back. An action packed thriller where RA plays a SAS trooper John Porter who rejoins duty after being discharged from service in a questionable mishap. What's interesting is the wide range the character has from the desolate out of service guy to the action guy at work. He quit this when Peter Jackson offered him the Hobbit and what happened to strike back after that in better not mentioned (although the revamped series has a good following)
Here's the link to its DVD promo( couldn't find anything more online, will update if I do find)
4. Spooks season 7 to 9 (aka MI-5)
The reason I put this after Strike Back is only that RA appears only in season 7 and unless you have the patience to watch 1 to 6 (which I dint) its kind of abrupt but once you get into it its very good. RA plays a MI 5 agent Lucas North who was in Russian prison tortured for 8 years when his part starts. Its a very complicated an unpredictable character because the torture he has suffered has left him damaged. No more spoilers but this is really fast paced.
YT link to episode 1.
Almost all episodes are there I think.
5. The Hobbit series-
As much as I hated the very idea of RA playing a dwarf initially, he has done a brilliant job as Thorin. It helped that the makers disfigured him less than the other dwarfs.
Will update the rest in the weekend..😃
