Hello girls, how are things going? I had come to India on a vacation, and I got married. Hence the long silence. How are things with everyone here?

The White Princess is a great show, although terribly inaccurate historically speaking.

I don't know, with the kind of stuff I see on TV nowadays, I'm a little disappointed. This is 2017 and we're making shows like Piya ki Pehredaar (whatever , not sure about it's name) , and it's totally unacceptable man.

Going to stick to my English shows for now, esp GOT .

Thank you , Ara. I'm well. Your Jeeju and I are living in different countries at the moment , thanks to his job and my residency. So long distance marriage chal rahi hai.

The White Princess is the sequel of THe White Queen right? I started watching it but the inaccuracy was a total put off. So I didnt even try the princess.

Pehredaar piya ki has been relegated to 10.30pm after a petition to Smriti Irani and BCCC. I dont exactly agree with her comparison to GoT but yeah when people don't mind watching the incest, rape and what not, why not this is a question. But certainly not in a prime time slot when all the televisions are on just for the heck of it.

I watched a few episodes of Mohits LKHI, its pretty good but not knowing the story before leap reduces my interest level. Plus its time slot.

@ Kiara, I have only seen the 2017 version and I didn't know about the previous one. If its only 7 episodes I ll give it a try..

Just saw the clips and pictures of San's Indonesia tour. Frankly I dont know what to say, it mus be the cultural difference, but I am speechless. Sanaya managed better than some other celebs who went there by blending in with it but still. With San away from TV I am really lazy about IF as Instagram is way easier to use. Will check in here soon though now that I know you guys are here. 😊

Sorry for the abrupt wish the other day, I had to head out (I think) and put my phone away. And I had to wish you before that! Well, I'm sure jeeju and you will be together very soon! Fingers crossed. Do you plan on moving where Jeeju is after residency ends or is he moving to where you are now? And they say na, distance makes the heart grow fonder. <3

Hey D,

I tried watching Mohit's show. It's off-putting after a while. It's just the story. And the fact that I'm not into sweet, to the point love stories. I like my IPKKND like tashan type stories! Yes, Sanaya is the bomb! She handles it so fan. Man, Sanaya. She really does know how to treat her fans well and her fans are truly loved. So lies, facade but just pure love. <3

Yeah I understand what you mean. There was a phase when I too loved these angsty stories with angry heroes and feisty heroines, but now somehow I prefer the simplicity of fluff. May be this is a phase. Even during the time of RR I was growing irritated with the whole angry young men with mommy issues type stuff. And I was really glad when I heard nothing of that sort about the ML for KKP, well all that is in the past.. And whatever little I liked of that genre, watching a few episodes of IPK3 has cured me of it. I have even stopped reading IPK FFs because Advay comes to the mind instead of Arnav and I can only laugh. What was Gul thinking coming up with this!!😕

Atleast Bollywood seems to be outgrowing its obsession with run around the tree romances, if the recent hits and upcoming movies are anything to go by. I had thought Toilet would be a cringe fest from its very theme but was very surprised the way dealt with the issue, apart from the whole All Hail Modi Swach Bharat Abhiyan!! So I am looking forward to the next Akshay Kumar movie, something about sanitary pads😆 and the Ayushmann Khurana starrer on ED. LOL, I am liking this current state of BW where big budget superstar movies are flops and all these below the belt ones are likely hits..

Hi girls. Yeah, we hope he will move here , or actually, whatever works out. Can't decide till Dec at least, that's when all my exams and practicals end.

Deeps, you're right. Apart from Raees, by SRK, everything else with a "big star" has flopped so far. I'm glad that off beat movies are doing well. Hope this maturity seeps into the TV audience as well.

I don't really like angry young men. Angst is one thing, but an emotionally challenged adult is another thing. And an emotionally challenged adult taking out his bhadaas on people totally not responsible for his problems is a whole level of bakwaas that I can no longer tolerate. If her recent choices are any indication, even Sanaya is now gravitating towards simpler stories. I hope she gets a good show soon.

Have you guys checked out mohit's show?Is it any good?I hear very mixed reviews and I don't actually have the time to watch it. I hope he does well, I'm very fond of him. I haven't checked out IPK3 because the promo with the ravan put me off.

As for comparing Pehredaar to GOT, please. When they showed incest, it was between two villians, and at no point did they try to make it romantic. It was shown as the sick thing it is. And same goes for all the violence, gore and rapes on the show. I think the lady went a little too far comparing her sick show to GOT. Yes, I am emotionally attached to the show, LOL.

Deeps , the White Queen and the White Princess are based on the historical novels written by Philippa Gregrory. She also wrote the Other Boleyn Girl (again, very heavily embellished history) . This is a series about the War of Roses , there are 3 books, The Red Queen , The White Queen (which were both sort of fused into the first series) and then The White Princess. It was actually King Richard who killed his nephews, and they were for sure lost/killed. Margaret had nothing to do with it. Neither was Elizabeth Woodville a witch (such rubbish, but made for excellent drama) .King Henry VII was a wonderful husband. It is said that he never took a mistress during the entire time he and Elizabeth of York were married. When she died, he actually retreated into his quarters to mourn and was not seen for days. He didn't rape her before the wedding, for God's sake, Arthur was born near term. And for sure, Elizabeth of York was not romantically or sexually involved with her own uncle. That was the sickest part of all.

Girls!

Su, how is it that I catch you in the matter of seconds? Lol. We be karmically connected, but I'm sure that's not even a word!

About leads and stories: I think I may have put myself wrong. When I said I don't like Mohit kind of story which is being shown is because it's too simple. Girl meets boy, immediate attractions, love on both sides, in a week proposal and then drama! And compile that too a daily soap! It makes the relationship more of infatuation than love, to me. I don't know. I prefer the OTP interacting, getting to know each other, understanding, spending time together, so on and so forth before any sort of a relationship culminates/forms. Maybe it's because I read a shit ton of books growing up, too many novels and romance novels if I needed a quick read. And too many mills and boons to actually point out flaws which the books itself are! It's a similar way how my first kdrama/manga/anime was Itazura na Kiss, then Nodame Cantabile, and then though I still love Nodame Cantabile... As I grow older I have come to realize the issues with these so called kdramas. Playful Kiss, Boys Over Flowers and all that. I hardly watch any kdramas or dramas now basically coz of time crunch and then the acquired taste of what I want in a drama. Also, I'm terrible at waiting, so I give up on the show if I have to wait for episodes, unless it's really good! The last kdrama I watched was The Best Hit which I picked after Goblin which was preceded by You Who Came From The Stars I think! Where was I? Yes. xD The interactions and build up more than the angst. But then even angst depends on reasoning! I still love IPKKND despite what it was. It is a gem to me!

Second of all, Mohit show lacks the plotline I want or can agree to! It's too sappy (previous generation) as is this and to a point predictable. Why couldn't Kamini clear her name? Why did she waste 20 years of her life over a man who didn't think twice before abandoning her? Why didn't she move on? Why didn't she fight back? Why does she place him on a pedestal and blame him? She had an affair, didn't she calculate the possibility of being abandoned!? I would rather watch Kamini be strong and fight back than be the psychotic person she is now. Also, the next generation is the same. Ayaan is best friends with Madavi who loves him, but he loves Mohini. Mohini is the daughter from an affair while Madhavi is the daughter from a marriage. Mohini is poor and non influential. Madhavi is far from that. We all can see where this is going! Mostly. As much as I love Mohit, there is nothing to watch in that show. For example, if Priyanka Chopra with all the controversies she is in regarding SRK, if she had to announce a break and come back in a year, couldn't she? Or any lead actress. Kamini was supposed to be a superstar. But i guess its the time slot. It's a good plot line, especially after the leap but i don't know. It's just lackluster for me. Mohit is timid. Preetika is timid. Madhavi is annoying. Previous gen is frustrating. Show has such popular faces. It needs a proper time slot to function properly. It's plotline is not meant for the 2pm slot. But something after 8. I would be cool if it even got the 10:30 or 11 PM slot at this point.

Man, Pehredar is creepy. It's creepier to see them defend the show. Gulaal was there on Star Plus. It wasn't so bad, I never watched it though. In Gulaal if I remember. The FL had to marry her husband's baby brother after his death. Pehredar is doing all the creepy rubbish to gain attention, and it's paid media is publicizing it and in turn its getting the ratings needed! How creepy is it to have comments on the phallus size of a 9yo for the first night with a 19yo? And talks about pleasing and what not? Creepy. Ugh. I can't even. It's just disgusting.

Historical romances. Man, I prefer my Judith McNaught, Eloisa James ones. Also D, I got all of Eloisa James works, most of them, tell me if you want any! Thanks.

I was obsessed with the Tudors a while ago! Like a few weeks ago. But sadly, I'm terrible with names and mess things up. Any help on memorising names or terms?

Also, Bollywood. Man, the irony! Also, Taimur is so cute! And anyone heard about the little girl controversy! Someone sent it on our group to describe our situation for our immunology paper (we had no notes, found immuno hard, couldn't understand a thing and had a paper the next day), and the next thing we know is that it's trending as abuse. I don't know what's crazy! That a bunch of such videos are funny meme. Or that someone beats their kid up whilst recording it. Or commercialized it via YouTube and such. The world is creepy these days. And the Blue Whale challenge too! Be safe, girls!
