Aishwarya obviously. I don't think deepika can pull off complex characters like say a raincoat, provoked, guzaarish or chokher bali so convincingly the way Ash did. Ash is more versatile, expressive and a better actress.

Its not fair to DP as she is junior to Aishwarya, has never been associated with any global platform or hollywood cinema. But personally I think she has surpassed Aishwarya in strict terms of performance, though her filmography is shorter in comparison.Deepika's Naina extruded simplicity, vulnerability while Piku was a fierce, passionate, emotional apt representation of today's woman...amasing ease and subtlety in Fanny..Meenamma showed the sparks she has in comedy genre..while Aishwarya's repertoire appears varied and vast,I dont think she has done complete justice to most roles..she tried to be versatile but was not as successful as Deepika..I liked her histrionics in SLB movies but her overall act always seem to leave a void..she brings a kind of cold aura/artificiality which makes it hard to relate to her characters..Deepika though not as stunning as Aishwarya always exhibits great connectivity and sesnivitiy in her portrayals..Though pair of beautiful eyes are the biggest assets of both these actress,I like Deepika's emoting a lot better..Aishwarya is a better dancer though

Even though I can't stand both on or off screen, I will go with Deepika. Cause she is more tolerable to me on screen than Aish. Dare I say, a better actress than Aish too.

There is nothing likeable about Aish on screen. Her voice is like Minnie Mouse and the less said about her acting the better. Deepika at least has a good set of expressions that are not of the constipation kind.

Y insulting DP by comparing her with overrated actress like Aishwarya. Aish's stardom didn't reach what DP is now.

She might does many complex roles but nothing such able to click with the audiences. We will get to see that in Jazbaa again.

AISHWARYA. Deepika was good in Cocktail, Piku and Yjhd. But in my opinion none of them compare to what Aish was in Kandukondein or Provoked or the brilliance in Raincoat or Guzaarish. She was amazing in Guru, JA, Devdas, Hddcs, Sarkar Raj etc too.
One can clearly see the versatility in the performances too. I really like deepika too, I am sure she will be great in BM and Tamasha too. But Ash is a way better actress for me.
