IKRS 5th September 2015 ep.24..My Take

Saturday episode means offering viewers a weekend treat.. a recap of the weeks key events and a closure of the week with some bumper entertainment ..what could be more entertaining than watching Mishal in role of Viplav shaking a leg or two to the popular number Banarasiya from my favourite love story Bollywood film Ranjhanna!. Colors have in the past used song numbers on Mishal as Dutta in LTL too. My wait is rewarded today as Mishal is shown today as Viplav dancing to an all out! appropriate song and dance number.

The episode is laced with fast paced progressive tempo. A certain ferocity and passion that keeps us engaged right from the start. That spirit, positive or negative, which drives us into action and makes us alive! Dhani brims with a fiery fighting spirit, the spirit of survival , with which she confronts lalla's dangerously armed goons and demands access to their barred shelter on the basis of the stay order. Dhani's passion to retrieve her home! works her up to contact the DM and fight her case! Next comes Dashrant with his savage passion of revenge against the poor widows. His spirit is that of the predator! on the prowl for vulnerable easy prey bits of food that satisfies , his full of blood sport instinct ! that which quite easily slips into hunter mode and butchers soul's of devotes he leads, rather than saving souls of sinners. He is the hunter who goes for the kill.. the ashram is his prey that he sets his hunting eye upon and his voracious appetite will never let go of his prey!

Next arrives the passion which reiterates familial bonds and a celebratory recognition of those especially, who bring laurels for the family name. Homage and applaud is paid in a rich ostentatious manner to a winner! Words, like arrangement , king size, winning! are used by Dashrant to sing praises of Viplav.. on the other hand in Dashrants court, there is Nothing for losers.. Losers like Tripurari, Shambu are stamped down with a robust disclaim from Dashrant. They bring shame to the family. With passion hard to control Dashrant pampers Viplav with his child hood memories of sweet demands. The varied colourful sherbets on display for Viplav serve as a reminder of his child hood memories with his dada ji. the sweetened coloured water are a symbol of the fact that Viplav's family especially Dashrant wants Viplav to remain as the pampered, spoilt boy-man..who is forever dependant and in control of his grandfather!

The rhythm of the episode also shows.. the disparity between the lives of Viplav and Dhani!

While Viplav and his two friends have all the fun, food and entertainment to hand at the drop of a hat, Dhani and her friends have, misery, no food or shelter at hand. Servants are at the beckon and call of Viplav. Dhani has to beg his servants at the gate to seek a desperate audience with the DM. Inside surrounded by the ambience of fairy lights, friends , family and colourl Viplav the winner, writhes, throbs ,gyrates to the beat of his win! while outside the three women in white stand in darkness looking at the lit up faade of the hotel.. from outside.. While Viplav hears claps, and Dhani hears rebuffs! The fervent begging.. of the widows.. eventually gets action only to be faced by disappointment...

Then approaches the final scene.. that shows the conflicting flow of passion between two people.. who stand divided by differences that are obvious it's not just difference in status it's mind sets probably prompted by dissimilar back grounds .. To Viplav.. this is an interesting and quizzical scenario.. as before him stands on the other side of his territory this time.. the rude widow!.. he is baffled by her clasped hands.. she seems deflated and is a begging mode.. Through the bars of the black wrought iron gate he watches her white sari clad profile.. as her lips move, his brow furrows slightly over the bridge of his pronounced nose.. what new show is she putting up??.. His passion of curiosity brings him to the gate.. and then begins his interrogation ..full of sneers and taunts! You didn't get off me.. missing me were you? that you come looking for me! to give me more grief! wasn't your tirade enough before the DM's office? and have you sworn on mother Ganges that I will not leave this Viplav Tirpathi in peace!..funny he should say this.. did he not rob Dhani's peace with his adverse act? Dhani ignores him and begs his servant for audience with DM.. This triggers his passion to confront her further.. and he moves over to the outside of the gate and begins his tempo of scorn against her.. outlining her failings of bothering people.. his grievances against her.. name calling him , her maligning and moaning about him !.. Rajlaxmi defends Dhani and he bites her head off too! then Dhani 's passion to pay back like for like ! starts and she tells him the truth about himself.. Viplav can only see his win he disregards what goes around him!.. his wealth clouds his vision to see beyond his nose. is this then the legacy of his household ?? who find celebration in the sorrow of others.. Viplav brushes her rubbish as pure jealously on her part about his winning.. mind you he does remind her, he won a court order for her and the widows without proof.. but then he also snubs her with reminder he can't help as he is not her lawyer.. this scene really should be taken as a playground squabble between two kids..both testing each others grounds.. the waters..in fact its like their friends too jump in to defend each's friend! happens in the school playground all the time!.. sadly the winner walks away.. with no peace.. and the losing party too walks away with nothing else except a bad taste in the mouth.. so here's hoping no more squabbles happen!

Viplav is enraged by her attitude with passionate rage.. which crushes if any sympathy for her after seeing her tears! She came and stole his joy of sweet success! Viplav's conscience does haunt him .. but only because for him becomes a matter of winning over her arrogance! This cannot be right..

Made me think at the end of the episode.. that we saw the positive and good side of Viplav.. when was in Delhi.. But, as soon as he returns to Banaras he turns negative ! why..? I suspect it's his family or rather specifically Dashrant who encourages the monster in Viplav to raise it's ugly head!..

Overall a great episode.. some memorable fireworks between Viplav and Dhani at the gate.. a symbol of entry and departure both! One thing is for sure daggers drawn or otherwise.. Viplav and Dhani have entered each other's lives.. Hamlet53 6.9.15

Precap: last place to end up in!! Viplav is enjoying the encounter!..looking forward to some to the point discussion.. like we have been thrown out on the streets!!

Have a great sunday.. love hammie

Amazing episode, and your analysis made it look better Hammie. I know you maybe felt it wasn't important to talk about the last scene in the episode in which widows arranged food on street..and Dhani give a begger something to eat. Dhani and her mom feeding each other. Suvarna rests her head on Badi amma's lab. Such touching scenes which showcases widows' unit. This made me lift my head high , and feel proud that I am a woman.
I am happy to read the dialogues ViDha which ViDha said to each other. And I am happy too that we share the same thinking about Viplav. You found him negative. And I think his friends too were rude. Where had that reality check gone?. But Dhani didn't cry. She put something in his mind and hunted him at night. I know she lost, but she is in a way to win.

Good to read your take. I like that the contrasts drawn between Dhani and Viplav are brought out by you with finesse and in a nuanced way. The gate represents, as you said, the doorway in and out --both an entrance and an exit. May I also add that while it is easy for the Vip to leave the comfort of his life and enter outside the gate, Dhani is not similarly free to enter his world, despite begging repeatedly. Also, there was a nice scene of Vip looking at Dhani through the bars of the gate. This scene brings up the wonderful question: who is imprisoned, really speaking, and who is free? Vip is in the protective penitentiary of DT's sugar-coated and protective world where things are free, and the sherbet flows, provided that one is following the rules of being a good student, being available to be brainwashed, and to accept things unquestioned. I really liked what you said about the sherberts and the infantalization of Vip. I saw the row of colored glasses as the sugar coated and colorful lies on which Vip was raised, and which till today form his unquestioned, staple diet.

The precap was also rather symbolic, because Dhani enters Vip's world, a mobile world in the form of a car no doubt, but his world nonetheless. What will be the consequences of breaking this taboo, of entering the world of one who is not able to see her world at all? Let us wait and watch.

dhaani thinks viplav as drama king...
viplav thinks dhaani as drama queen...
on top of that dhaani hates him becoz of his rich spoiled brat attitude...
then viplav thinks she doesn't want him to enjoy his first case victory...
Destiny has only one thing in mind to make this Drama queen and Drama king a happily married couple...i know this doesn't happen with ease...
